UTG MP5

Oct 8, 2005 8:37am
The UTG Mp5 showed up today. Everything about it is simply impressive for the money. I paid $130 shipped from airsplat. The box is almost exactly like a marui box, the gun feels the same as a marui, and the finish of the fore-grip feels much better than the marui.

Nice! I'm almost convinced I want one now... :)
Gun control is not Crime control.

I really like the UTG MP5 as well. It's one of the best buys for the money. These "underdog" companies are coming out with very competitive products. I had the chance to go into an SRC M4 tonight and I can honestly say that I would buy one. But that's for another thread. This one is about the UTG MP5.

The only correction I would make is that the mags should hold 240 rounds.

Used the gun all day today at the Hill. Put probably 1000 rounds through it and it held up just fine.

[quote]One of my few complaints with this gun would be the 3-prong flash hider. It's one of the few parts that are different from the Marui version, threading into the cocking tube instead of the front sight. It makes it a little more difficult to modify it for a standard aftermarket one, as most of them screw into the front sight. The large plastic orange one is not quite compatible with most of the QD accessories for the normal MP5 flash hiders. One can always retrofit the gun to take a standard 3-prong flash hider with a little bit of work.

i heard all you needed to do was to put a CA/TM front sight on it and it was good, but maybe i misunderstood

i just got into airsoft and i purchase the UTG MP5 for 120 with shipping from shortyusa.com and i love it.. i upgraded the spring so its shooting 365 and rewired the wiring to the full stock so it can fit my 8.4v 3600 mah battery. I just played a night game at cpb and i loved it. AEX said i could make it shoot 400 but i would have to upgrade the motor. but other than that im satisfied.

granzyman -- What spring did you put in there? How many rounds did you fire? I was planning on keeping mine stock, for indoor cqb, but i might just upgrade it. I'll probably buy another one anyway.
Oct 18, 2005 6:40am
mike.. i dont remember.. i took it to AEX so i dont know. i shot about 2000 rounds so far. but if you upgrade the spring youd want to upgrade the battery.. and if you upgrade the battery you need to rewire it. or get another mini. id sugest the rewire. i got the upgrade for the spring, rewire and a huge batter for like 120. so the gun and all its upgrades is now a totall of 240 for a upgraded UTG which is the stock price for a TM. so im happy. im buying a 3000 round dual drum for it tommorrow hopefully so that will be sick.

granzy , im not sure where i saw it but someone here is selling some drum for only like 110 , but i dont rember details about , nor what gun is compatible with

Either way, you can't go wrong with a $130 AEG. Also, since everyone has nothing but positive comments, it's worth the money.
