I have a TM SR-16 M4 variant and want to attach a VLTOR stock, or some sort of stock that is retractable but can fit a battery (VLTOR preferably) and was wondering how complicated the wiring is. I was told by the AEX guys that they need to take apart the gearbox to feed the wires up through the receiver of the gun so that no wires are exposed. is this true? if that is true, then how long does it take, do you have to disassemble the entire gearbox or just disassemble the gearbox from the receiver. if the latter is the case then i can do it easily myself. just looking for some expertise with this. thanks

You heard SLIGHTY wrong. Maybe just bad wording. Either way, the gearbox does not need to be disassembled but it does need to be removed from the receiver. The back end of the receiver where the buffer tube is needs to be opened up(Dremel'd) to feed the wires into the buffer tube and then into the stock. Then theres some wiring to be done.

yep, you're going to have to some dremeling if you're gping for that clean look and don't want the wires to be exposed
so the 25 bucks is worth it then? cuz i dunno how to dremel or any of that

30. And I would say yes if you are unsure how to do it or if you dont have the right tools.
