I can tell you this, without even going to their website or looking at their product. Synthetic suits, or pre-made suits, will never work as well as a well constructed do it yourself tree tux. Its not hard to do, just a little time consuming, but will be 10 times greater in the end.

yea i agree with kermit definatly buy a kit. there cheaper and they look better in the end. the only draw back is its time consuming to make one. i would sugest going to a army navy store and geting the kit. its about 60 to 70$.and it will take you probably over 5 hours to make it. it took me 6 to 7 to make mine.

Take heed to what Kermit posted.

Would it be helpful for me to give you a quick run down of how we were instructed to do it in the service? There are some write-ups online, and probably some real good ones, but if your lazy like myself just reply here and I'll give you a fly by the seat of your pants run down on what you need (can all be found at wal mart) and how to string it together.

Once your suit is constructed it needs to be weathered. Put it on and go play solo rugby or something. Roll around in the grass, dirt. and mud. once it's good and filthy hang it from a line and rinse, NOT WASH, it with the hose.

Fantastic guys. I'll be using your ghillie methods to keep myself invisible on my mobile surveillance assignments.

That's basically how I was taught back in 1989 also. We used non-servicable BDUs, sandbags, and camo netting from S4.

Cheap ass super quick way.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

Sounds good for a stalking suit. But the grass would stick too flat to the suit I would think.

ok so yeah i know what you guys said but is there a specific way to put the burlap and stuff onto the netting? like should i just plainly tie it on or throw in some glue? also about how long would it take for a new sniper at the age of 12 to do all this? and oh yeah when that one guy said to put the suit into a pillow case and burry it, what if its raining for the time i want to burry it. should i leave it in for a couple days instead of a few? :)

All the better if it is raining.

Go for it. And an average two piece suit can usually be done in about 35-45 hours if you don't do a lot of sewing.
Jan 26, 2008 8:51pm
just want to put this out there. i am making mine slightly differently than what has been posted.
Jan 27, 2008 4:28am
yep ok so thnx guys ima start on it by tomorrow. and oh yeah one more thing... should i also wear some face paint or just eat a mud pie? : )

just a heads up, when it comes to the point when you need to sew, use green dental floss, it is far stonger than thread and even with it's funky green color, it wont show up if done properly.
