Photos: UTG MP5 & internals...
I finally got off my lazy duff and dug up the pics I took when I opened the UTG MP5. Since I took a lot of crap for not doing taking photos when I opened up the SRC M4, I decided I better not forget to snap some pics this time...

Not that I'm an expert but looks just like a TM Ver2 mechbox, am I right? If so will it stand up to the standard upgrade, ie M100 and metal bushings? Were you upgrading it or just getting a look?
Pretty good copy of the CA mech box. Just a few variations on screw location, but it looks pretty good.

I changed some stuff out on it. M100 spring, mettle bushings, TM gears, and SRC piston head. Parts are compatible. The M100 spring didn't seem to make much of a difference on the chrono. The piston seal was good and I was getting strong compression, so I'm wondering if it's the hop unit. Been a little busy to look into it further.
what kind of numbers were you getting on the chrono? i'm going up to aex now to get some bbs and a mag.. i'll chrono my utg if they don't have a problem with it.

sorry for the potential revive. I was thinking of either getting this gun or saving up a bit more for a TM SG552 as a loaner/backup for friends and such. Just haven't been able to see the UTG on sale really anywhere but airsplat for 20+ more than everywhere else. I was planning on ordering from AA but they still don't have any in stock yet. I always wanted an adequate mp5 to go with my P90 TR for friends and such to use since they are still very unsure about airsoft. I'm stll not sure of any problems the UTG may have with horror stories of gearboxes locking up and the like, and I'm not a fan for opening up the gearbox(This is coming from someone entering the Air Force and an aircraft mechanic.) Arrrg my head's gonna pop! Neo I need thy wisdom!

I've heard some pretty sketchy things about shorty like their habit of swapping out new items for rebuilt or refurbished items. I don't want to pay for and buy thier "version 2" just to find out it's a returned half-assed version 1 that they just threw a better sling to fool you with.
I got a shipping confirmation from AirsoftGI last Friday for these thing. I ordered them to raffle off at the Nov. 13th game.
heh I guess I'm gonna get the UTG first then just wait off on the SG552 later then. All I have to do now is find where I want to get it from that doesn't require wavers and doesn't have a past history of screwing people over. Got my work cut out for me.
i totally want one of these ive still got some gear to get though. even with all the awesome reviews and stuff its still a hundred dollar gun it almost seems too good to be true. keep this thread goin and post any problems you have with it if its not too much trouble, o ya and how is it at the chrono?

From what I have read and heard it cronos just SLIGHTLY under the marui version. But some have said it chronoes slightly higher. So who the hell knows. Then again the source is the internet and we all know just how truthful information on the internet can be.
