I've heard quite a few bad things about the CA36c internals. I would recommend the TM G36c. It's ver. 3 marui gearbox is pretty much garunteed to last. It's also usually cheaper.

Since the first thing that popped in his head was the g36c then he probably wants something compact that is able to contend at medium ranges. (Your not going to find a legal gun that will do close to FAR ranges.) I can heartily recommend the P90 although some don't like it's feel and looks. I love mine.

Most people don't like the p90 because of the issue with carrying mags around. With just the 2 leg holsters for the p90 mags.(That's four highcaps or lowcaps for use.) I can now just use a body armor varient rather than a modular vest. I have a dump pouch that hooks onto my butt area of my belt and a pistol mag holder off left side of the belt. With a small util pouch off the other side of my belt for bbs and water. I always carry a ruck with me so extra gear isn't too much a problem. I just prefer the looks of the body armor vests to the pouch/modular style vests personally.

ya dude the CA36C is really a sweet gun, youll love the 350 fps outta the box and it comes with a scope rail and 3 rails on the foregrip. the only thing i never liked about mine was how the battery went in, which could be difficult, but once you get the feel for it its a piece of cake. you should note that because of its size it will not get range like an m16 or a full size g36, its made for cqb and medium range firefights.
And shephards we will be.

then again most firefights are at the close to medium level anyways. With very few long range extreme firefights limited usually to snipers. But then again, if they can reach that far accurately then most likely they won't be allowed to enter CQB to low-medium ranges legally where most of the combat usually takes place. Especially in heavily wooded forests where you can move from cover to cover easily to get within range. Although on open ground. They will have a great advantage unless your great on your feet.

I have a TM G36C and I had it run stock till the gears went out which was literally around 40,000 rounds.

just to add some music to this symphony, I owned a G36C, the TM version, and ran it out at the Lincoln fields. I could hit anything , I mean anything at 275-300 feet, no problem. Remember, it's not always fps or even the length of the barrel (yet obviously longer barrels DO help), but it's the hop-up, the barrel inner diameter, and what weight of round you are using. The gun shot 338fps, and still had that range, as well as an insane rate of fire with the 9.6 nimh battery. Tune the gun, do not overpower it...

I almost sleep with my cag36c, its a gfreat gun, my only dislikes is the battery which can be hard to change, and how much osme external parts can run but its reallt not that bad. I also like the p90 which i have had some personal time with, accurate as F#$K.
