Steel BB's

Can they be used with upgraded guns? I was wondering, because if so, they can be really painful if needed. Damn chickens.

I personally wouldn't use them. might scar up the inside of the barrel if there is a bur or something.

I am not going to use them. It was more of a curious question if these guns can handle them. Bu, thanks for the reply.

I mean I will not use them for AS. I would like to use them in the backyard for target practice. But, then again I have only been using springers and they just bounce off the target, so they are all over. I want something that will at leat penatrate cardboard.

you'll be fine with .2's they go through cardboard no problem. Not in a springer though...

hello, i have a g26 metal slide metal barrel, and i was wondering what is the big difference in using the .12g bbs instead of the .2g bbs that every site seems to recommend, shouldnt it be okay if the bbs are the same size?
Feb 7, 2004 10:05pm
I think it has to do with the weight factor?
Feb 7, 2004 11:53pm
the difference between the .12 and athe .20 bbs are weight and quality of make.

It's all physics. They have the same surface area with less weight, so they're not as dense. So wind resistance affects them more. A lot of people use .25 or even .3s in upgraded guns for increased accuracy.

ive heard that using the lighter weight bbs would actually distort the barrel on my gun, is this true?
Feb 8, 2004 5:46am
Its can... the thing with the "light weight"... .12 bbs, are they usually ar not very "perfect" in shape and can scratch up your barrel making it less perfect inside. this can affect accuracy and fps

Eatank, I don't understand why metal bbs are marketed because airsoft weapons use brass barrels for the most part. Unless you don't mind replacing your barrel often...And I doubt you can get those .88 bbs to travel 100ft without lobbing it unless you had near 1000fps.
