i am thinkn about getting either a steyr AUG or a FA-MAS 1, which one would be the better pick of guns in respect to short to medium medium range accuracy and rapid....ness of the gun

I've got a BRAND NEW condition AUG for sale. Used very few times. only has some scratches on the top rail (civilian version). Comes with the rubber coated adjustable zoom scope from aex. comes with box and stuff. $240 shipped?

but, btw, striker.. famas has faster rate of fire but is unreliable. Augs or supposed to be reliable guns and are very accurate, but they cost more. Some good things though to the famas, one of the versions comes with a bipod. I originally wanted one, but whe i went to go check it out at AEX they said that they were unreliable and that AEX didn't work on them.

ya, i think ill go with yalls advise about the famas, it did look quite crappy and the aug does look like a pretty solid gun. and i do like accuracy!! :D

There is a reason why the famas is known as the indestructable tank in the airsoft world. The damn thing is very durable and can take a whoopin and still keep on shooting regardless. Just don't upgrade it and it should be fine. It uses an EG560 hi-torqe mortor set to RPMS with a high speed gearset . What it lacks in power it makes up for in ROF. It's range is pretty decent and it's ROF is the best. It's also fairly accurate too. It's mostly all plastic but that isn't a bad thing. It keeps the gun light and manageable and enables you to react much quicker than with heavier guns. Both of the current versions now have an adjustable hop-up. Just stock up on hicaps and you will be ready for SAW work. I personally have never heard of a stock famas breaking or failing. The only time I've heard of one break was because of the owner upgrading it too much. Friend dropped his from my balcony and hit a stump and it was still fine and still fired.

If the Famas is so good why is it that the people who work at AEX say it sucks. I don't think they are full of .... I guess that if I were to go for an AEG I 'd go for the AUG, better to go with those who have exprience working on the hardware. But I don't know that much so pay no mind to me.

ya the guys at aex said that they wouldnt even work on the famas, so what good would that do me, is there some other way that i could increase the ROF on the gun without suffereing in accuracy? or durability?

probably the reason why aex wont work on them is because of the internal parts that they have out there for upgrades are rare or sold out. i have a famas and i like it, i do all the work on all my guns. also i like the aug, im trying to get an aug military right now. so i would get what ever your gut tells you, not what other people say. thats there own opinion. reason being is that most of the guys here have m4's,ak's,mp5's. for me i have one of each, if not, more than one of each. it also depends on what type of player you are.

whats the difference between the aug military and civilian? does it have anything to do with the performance of the gun or is it just a cosmetic thing.

AUG all the way! the FAMAS is to the best of my knowlege the first AEG that Tokyo Marui releasd. that speeks for its self. plus in reality the famas comes from the same country that cursed the world with the Chauchat machine gun, bar none the biggest pile of sh!t to ever be bestowed on any millitary force ever. Dont buy the airsoft Famas its a bad idea and you wil regret it there are 1000 diffrent things you can with the AUG and only one you can do with the FAMAS...."surender" it should come with a white flag in the box I think that would be cool :wink:
