airsoftgi.com has them in stock. it cant be too long before there is a review
Plastic Gearbox, and Plastic Body.
i preordered mine from airsoftgi about half a month ago. and haven't seen it at my door step yet. i may bring this thing to op.blood money if its good enough to take the beating and not get laughed at for having a plastic m249. but will see how it goes.
Looks good in print, but will the plastic body and gearbox hold up to "field" use? Can't wait to see it if you have it at Blood Money.
Ok Ronin, KNUCKLE UP!

As said before, plastic can be a VERY durable material short of vehicle damage and explosives. Don't doubt the power of petrolium compounds! I've had plastic items out-live my metal ones by a far margin and many of these are in some pretty strenuous conditions. For example, our plastic pully system for our store's rear dock loading bay lasted much longer than the steel drum based pulley system which got a fat dent in it and became unusuable in just 3 days.
well guys i got my m249 from star.
this is something i would like to know more about.
sounds like I may just buy one.

well i got to use the m249 today at nam. and it worked out good, no broken parts. besides running low on juice. and finally someone asked if i would like to use their battery. thank you for letting me use your battery. sorry i forgot your name. it shot flawless. some of you guys were like holy ish that is light. yes its all plastic but it worked out fine for me. just don't know if i shot anybody with it. becasue i let off all 2500 rounds in the air. ill post later if there are any problems internally later. im going to take it apart and clean it up and grease it also. might put an m120 in it too. well post up later.
For those of you who are thinking of getting the m249 from star i have some news they are going to come out with another different box mag.
I was impressed by the look, feel and weight of it.
