Got a UTG mp5 as a loaner for friends and wanted to mount my cheap red dot reflex sight onto it. Try to put the mount on and it seems a mm or 2 off. Can get one side to get on easily(obviously,) but the other side is just a wee bit short to get around to the other mounting tabs. Is this just me? Or am I just not getting how to mount it? I unscrew the thumb screw and try to slide it on when it's nice and loose and it won't pop on. The other UTG mp5 I used it went on just fine. Kinda odd.
you'll probably have to unscrew the top rail, and lossen the two hex screws that push on the top of the receiver.
yeah I found the two little screws, loosened them through the small holes atop the rail and it fit like a glove. On my friends he told me he couldn't figure it out so he dremeled the tiny hex screwed. I found the special allen wrench just for the mount and it all went fine. Just had to go to work and come back again. Unfortunately I'm sling stupid so I have to figure out this sling and the damn knee brace looking piece and the two other lopped pieces and I should do fine.
