just to let you know our limit is 550, that looks nice, i would sugest a M3 scope tho, those do the trick

my sniper was 550 when bought it and it was only $200.and it is the kjw m700,and its hella good.

I dont like the KJW M700's though. from what i've heard they are worth the money, which isnt much. My friend did a "shootout" between the 2 m700's (tanaka and KJW) and found the accuracy to be WAY different. We found that the tanaka had about 3-7" groupings at 200' whereas the KJW had at best a 5 inch grouping and worse...about 10". Plus, I dont like that it is a damn near impossible to drop in a tightbore...So I guess what i'm saying is the lack of upgrades and accuracy is what kills it for me.

hmm.i an hit a man sized target at 225 feet.but the minimum engadgment distance is 100 feet i think. so i would say that thats good enough for me.i like the gun but now m trying to decide if i should trade for a ca m16.cuz i would kinda like versatility, and i could make the m16 a sniper of keep it a close range gun.ive never really sniped at games but ive heard that its not fun and that its boring.wat do u think apache?

but i think i remember steve telling me that if i were to use heavier bbs then the fps limit with .2 would have to be lower.is this true? or do a lot of people use heavier bbs?

When we were shooting the m700's we were using .36's. Straight i believe. The white ones, not the graphite coated ones. the graphite coated ones SUCK, wash them off if you can. they work like a charm.

Well, either way, for those of you snipers out there that want to be shooting up to and not over 550 fps, just know your engagement distances and use common sense. I'm sure noboby would want to get hit by a 550 fps at the wrong engagement distance yet alone 300+ fps at 20 ft-25 ft.

I agree completely with the rules here, i feel that fields (seqoia and many others) that limit ALL guns to 400 FPS is a total waste of a snipers advantages. Being a sniper you HAVE to have at least some sort of an advantage. Meaning a higher powered gun than an average AEG. It is not good to have a bolt action rifle that you can get off maybe round ever 5 seconds or so, and have a guy who can blast you at the same time with over 15 Rounds per second. its just not fair, and yet the fields still have minimum engagement distances for snipers. I am glad to find a local field that encourages the 550 fps limit. I love it. It gives the sniper, if talented enough, the ability to push a bb a good 20-30 yards farther, easy. So I am saying that the FPS limit to this field rocks, it gives a sniper actual sniper ability.

i think im gonna trust swat monkey about the the bbs weight and accuracy.so im gonna keep my kjw m700 and get a tight bore and some other upgrades and im gonna use heavier bbs.does anyone thats been to sacair games know wat the limit is for a blot action sungle shot sniper with .36 or .46?if someone could tell me that would be great.thanks

550 fps with .2's
Nov 22, 2005 1:12am
ya i know that, but wats the limit with .36 or .3?does anyone know?

Nov 22, 2005 1:17am
its not chronoed like that. you have to chrono with .2's and afterwards you can use whatever weight bb you want. but the velocity must be 550 fps with .2's. so that would be around...490-525 with .36s.
Nov 22, 2005 1:18am
r u sure its like that for sacair games? didnt u say u were new to sacair?

I am new to sacair, but I read the rules. Here they are
Nov 22, 2005 1:40am
but the heaier the bb the more joules(energy) the bb will get from traveling through the air which will make it hurt more.thats wat ive heard.

Nov 22, 2005 2:04am
Thats correct. But for safety's sake, in Sacairsoft and most other places you have to be able to chrono your gun at a given velocity, then after you have passed inspection, you can use whatever bb you want, because .2's are pretty much the lightest there is, the FPS will only go down with heavier bb's. you can use as heave as you want just so long as when you chrono your gun with .2's it is 550 fps or below.
