Founder of a street gang called the "crips". He was convicted of the murder of 4 people in 1979. As so sentenced to death. Stan Tookie Williams has been nominated for the Novel peache prize every year since 2001, for his contributions to anti-gang literature namely childrens books. He is a strong anti-gang activist now. Snoop Dogg supports saving Tookie, who happened to also be a former crip himself.

did the guy really change?? So he wrote a few kids books. So he was nominated for a nobel peace prize. So where was all this good when he started/founded a street gang? How many lives were taken by this person? He was only convicted for 4. How many did he get away with?? How many people died indirrectly from this person. TOO MANY!! The guy has a lot of history. Should he be spared?? I say let him ask forgiveness from God for his sins, lets send him there so he can ask in person!!! Why do they call them "CON-victs"!! How do you know there lying???? ANSWER- When there lips are moving!!!Former CDC guard. Give the victims and victims family closure, save the state some money!!!

The way I always see it, is if you make a decision, live with it. He was convicted of killing 4 people, I don't care if he has reformed his life, he made a decision, his falut for screwing up his life.
Nov 30, 2005 4:56am
he killed 4 people, maybe more. there is no way u can be forgivin for that. so im voting no

I could care less about what he has accomplished in the deepest darkest places of the Q. Bottom line is he was tried and convicted of murdering 4 people that we know of at least and that unto itself is a capital offense and he should be put to death and should have already been put to death in my humble opinion, but as it is the queer half-assed State of California doesn't actually act upon the death penalty it seems until 20 years on death row is reached.
Nov 30, 2005 5:02am
i voted no also, no i'm probably gonna get jumped... lol
Nov 30, 2005 5:06am
Fry him. Even though he has changed he still is GUILTY of MURDER. PERIOD.

I don't see exactly why they have to kill him. If he is doing something productive in prison like showing people that gang life isn't the way to be and he is writing children books then thats just killing away something that could be helpful. But by no means does that mean we gotta free him. Yes, he did kill people and I understand that should never be passed but I know that if I was killed by a person and that person ended up in prison and he understood his crime and decided to switch his life around and make and he showed others to not make the same mistake then I know I would want the person to still stay in prison but he could continue to do what he has been doing. I don't see the purpose of the death penalty, I feel as if spending a life time in prison is probably a lot worse than taking the easy way out and take the lethal injection.
If I had two dead rats. I would cut you.

Imagine you come home from work or school one day, and a sheriff is at your door waiting for your arrival. He explains to you that your mother/daughter/father/son/brother/sister or whoever as close to you as these people would be had been zip tied and then murdered in the back of a store? Make sense now? It would be unfortunate, yes, if he WERE innocent. But, if not, burn in HELL tookie...

Again, yes Tookie killed those 4 people (and in probably one of the worst possible ways). But again what is he gonna do if he's kept alive? Last I checked there isn't a 7-11 in prison and he isn't going anywhere right? All he is doing is writing anti gang literature and which last I checked is something thats helpful to society. I understand where your coming from dean, I know that if I found out that my family was executed in the back of a store then I sure as hell would want that person to pay. But again I feel that life sentence in prison is a much worse punishment than the shot. What better way to know that person is getting what he deserves when he's gotta look around his shoulder every 2 seconds when he takes his showers. I get to go to bed knowing that person is suffering while at the same time helping out society. Its a win win situation. But this is my feeling about the death penalty. You guys are probably different and would much rather have the SOB dead in a instant which is perfectly understandable I just feel that the productive solution is the best solution.

whatever happened to the good ol' days of beheading, way way back, when us common folk were able to get our once a month entertainment ?
Nov 30, 2005 6:20am
the thing is with a animal like tookie he doesnt ahve to watch his ass in the shower. i know hes older and cant do as much damage as he could when that picture was taken... but if anyone messed with him, every crip in the prison would kill that person who messed with him... hes got a free security teamin there... kill his ass
Nov 30, 2005 6:29am
being that he is on death row, he most likely has to shower alone.

Yes life in prison is shitty and boring and whatnot... but then again you get to workout, watch TV, play ball if you so desire (if your not in solitary, i'm not sure about death row but if hes saved then he'd be off death row). Imagine you're about to be killed and you know it. You may be prepared but i'd wager that when the time comes you're scared shitless and that single moment is worse than contemplating a life behind bars. You would probably reform your life too if you were facing death so its hard to take it as a choice to change as opposed to a necessity. As i see it, anything you do after you commit a crime like that is between you and god. If you've truly repented you'll be forgiven.
Nov 30, 2005 6:05pm
i agree with easychease if he is doing some thing productive then his life should be spaired. espically when he is trying to tell kids that gang life is no life at all.also he helped unite bloods and crips some parts of la. and that saved many lives right there. more lives than he ended. so i think he should get life with out parole.
Nov 30, 2005 6:44pm
Death row wait time should be the 5min walk it takes to get to the firing range. leting these monsters sit in the can on our dime is bull shit.....these numbers are form LA county alone:
