I'm glad I live in Antarctica. Ignorance is not always bliss. It's embarrassing to see the driven opinions of some. I am glad I understand the truth of what is acceptable. It's so interesting to me how one can say he is concerned of his rights, when it was this very policy we uphold that allowed his ancestors to flourish here. I-G-N-O-R-A-N-C-E...

I wonder if I would be better off going to Germany? Though, as a caucasian, I guess I don't face the criticism of most minorities.

germany has a high unemployment rate, well, thats what german tourist tell me.

first off i thought this was the land of the FREE...so anyone kan do what they want as long as by law and have their own opinions and shouldnt interfere with others lives...yes germany has a high unemployment rate and it saddens me as its my home..i dont like seeing my people suffer like that...but as an american citizin its pretty damn easy getting a job because america is offering us so much there with the military bases...but they only give the option of becoming an american citizin to work with them..only few jobs where u dont have to be....i hope i explained that correctly as to not be misunderstood

One thing i can't stand is the whole idea of separation of church and state. Its unfounded in my opinion, but we've gone so far as to make laws AGAINST having CHRISTIAN symbols in our classrooms or worn by teachers no others. If i'm not mistaken, a law that prohibits the display of the 10 commandments or having god in the pledge, "prohibits the free exercise thereof". The display of religious symbols is constitutional as long as they aren't mandated by the law. Its almost a slow animal farm, the wording is "changed" (reinterpreted) then we are told thats how its been and we're mistaken to believe otherwise. I know separation of church and state didn't always mean what most people take it to now.

It's just plain ignorant to say it's the immigrants fault. The people asking for and pushing for the change are the liberal left who are by part American Citizens!!! 90% of all immigrants try their best to adapt and assimilate. For some it's not so easy. The last I heard I have yet to see some FOB or FOP get on CNN and call for America to change it's primary language. Or declaring that they are being oppressed or offended by the words Merry Christmas.

Ya, I hang with/Party with alot of Students here at SDSU from Norway/Germany/France basically alot of Europeans, and they can not beleve how young people are surpressed here, and SDSU was just voted by Playboy as being one of the top party schools in the United States. They can not understand how parties are broken up or how our drinking age is so high, it seem reduclouse to them. Good example, I was talking to my friend Julia about how in high school we have prom which is basically, get dressed up, go dancing, get drunk and have sex. Her responce to me was, "Well in Germany we don't need a event like your prom, cuz we do that kind of thing most weekends." and she went on to say she feels that we Americans have alot of hang ups about mostly, Race relations and Sex.

To say that america only speaks english, nothing else, is a terrible thing to say. Why is speaking english so important to you? I cant believe this is supposively an american citicen saying this. For you to post this tells us a lot about you too.
Do not fear the darkness, fear the shadows.....

Speaking english is the primary language of the United States since it began as a colony of Great Britain. Of course it's important to us. What would the citizens of Mexico and the latino community here in the America say if there was a strong push to change the primary language from spanish to Swahili.

theoretically there is no official language of the United States. Last time it was voted on was around 1840 and German lost the majority by 3 votes.
