I know you guys probably hate newbies, but i was wondering if i could get you to give me opinions on a couple of choices. ive been playing with springers and want to upgrade. M4 or MP5 SD?

haha, dont worry, there are plenty of us newbs out. Well, which stlye do you like more? i have been playing with spring loaded as well, its just not as much fun.

if your just getting into aeg's i would have to say the Mp5. THey are cheaper than M4's and are a great starter gun. It also matters what type of game you play.....

i like the MP5 personally. fits better in the hand, and it looks cool with a supressor. on the other hand, the M4 has a longer barrel and from what ive heard, better range and accuracy. i like to take shots at longer distances

safer would always be the one with more protection. People have gotten their teeth shot out and i've been shot in the face but you can always wear a mouth guard if your worried about your teeth. One thing though that i didn't know about the MP5SD was the silencer is actually a barrel extension and isnt' foam filled. I think you can get one with foam from redwolf though.

I just wear glasses. I know Ill get shot in the face ( I ALWAYS do), and i know that it hurts, but id rather have a full field of vision.

different protection for different situations, more protection, ie full mask, for cqb, orange tinted saftey goggles for daytime out door. clear for night. the orange does something, not sure what, but everything is more radient, and easier to spot the white bb's, cuz now their orange

Yeah I use a field mask also after the time when I got shot in the cheek and ended up having the fattiest of welts the next morning on my face. It looked like a zit on my face the size of a small child's hand.

dude wear a full face! i got my tooth shot out and it sucks now i have to have a bolt into my jawbone to hold my fake tooth. teeth are way more expensive than a paintball mask believe me.

Your face isn't the only thing you need to protect. This like 8 years ago there was an airsoft competition in California. A player made a mistake by taking a leak during the game. A sniper was laying underneath a bush with the player in his sights about 25 yards away. The player's Fireman got drilled by an upgraded PSG-1. Remember your face isn't the only thing that needs protection :lol:

wow that was kind of a "dick" move by the sniper... plus 25 yards is closer than sacair allows for sniper engagement distances (min 100 feet)

full face. i shot someone's tooth out with my gun and the person was 300feet away. then again my gun has a m120 spring. and mp5s are nice, but i wouldn't get one personally because when you want to upgrade, no one will buy it. at least that is my experience...

Another tip for you....you can always buy an MP5 and then get the HK94 barrel to add length to it for a little bit more accuracy....if you can find the damn thing on the internet. I found a site that had one, then I lost it. Can't remember if AEX has it or not......

I would say to wear a full face mask because their much safer but that's just my opinion!

Don't be cheap. Invest in a face mask. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. A broken tooth or missing tooth can result in costing you thousands of dollars. You can buy a face mask for around $25. You do the math!

Go for your personal preference in regards to eye protection.For myself I have a pair of shooting glasses, as a mask is impractical with my perscription glasses and I feel that a mask screw up you perreferal vision.

For the most part all TM, AEGs are the same. CA are the same. except for the stock diffrnces but waht i mean is that all TM are the same to one another, where the CA are all the same to onaonther, more or less speaking. The mp5 is good, not great woodland engagmnet gun due to shorter barrel, and the stock motor eg700 is graet but its a high speed motor where as when u start puting in bigger springs you need more torque to pull a bigger spring, of ocusre u could put new gear in it. but whatever. i would say get a TM mp5, p90 or sg1. Just my 2 cents

i would say sitck with tm or ca. and you should look into the g36's, ak or the m4.

for a weapon i would say the M4, it may not be a starter gun, but you can put a lot more features on it, like a grenade launcher and stuff that u can't put on an MP5. D

There are only a few aeg's that I would not recommend starting out with. One should not be asking which type of aeg instead asking for which brand of aeg is good as a starter. More then anything else starting out with something that is realiable and durable more important then which one. Because after all it's mostly a matter of preference as to which rifle one wants.

For brands I recommend TM for reliability. CA are fine for those who wants an upgraded AEG right out of the box but eventually you who have to do some work to them for reliability. AEG of choice it is up to your preferences. M16s, MP5s, and AKs are the most common at sacairsoft games as of now. There are a few like me who like the G36c. P90s are around in the field too but not as common cause they have a very unusual magazine form that only one manufacture makes the mag pouch for it. M16s and mp5s are more common cause of parts and accesories are plenty in the marktet. Plus a majority of mag pouches and vests sold at stores are designed to carry the M16 or MP5 type magazines. If you want to save some money on your first AEG you can also buy a used one so you don't have to spend like $300 on a AEG that you used once and want to get rid of it.
