Good Sniper
Which sniper do you guys think is the best? A team member might be getting a Dragunov but it says the stock fps is 515 and sacairsoft games have a 500fps limit for snipers. Does anyone know if it is still ok?

Honestly, the SVD is right around 500. I've seen in certain places the svd shoot 490 so its right around 500. Hopefully they'll give you a little cushion.
lol yeah its 515 with .20's but if u tried to shoot .20's with a dragonav while then your an idiot, u shoot heavy bb's like the .35's or the graphite coated one's. With .35 it proably shoots 490 ish.
515 with .2s should be fine. I'm also pretty sure that if you get certified as a sacair sniper you can go up to 550 with .2s single action. Certification is just making sure you know your engagement distances.

Yes, the Dragonuv shoots nice. I tried one out for a few shots.

If you ever talk to me like that again, I'll rip out your balls and shove 'em up your ass, so the next time you sh*t, you sh*t all over your balls.

Depends on what you want. Are you into the more tactical looking rifle or standard Miltary rifle? Bolt Action? or a Semi Auto DMR (designated marksmans rifle), Gas? or Spring?. It's all preference, if you are JUST getting started, I would recommend a TM VSR-10 Gspec or other VSR-10 Series rifles. They are very reliable, but expensive. Gas rifles are great for moderate weather and are easy to upgrade if you wish. I personally prefer gas rifles, more reasilsm in the shot. One thing though...I've seen this COUNTLESS times over the years...sniping takes a LOT of money. Its not just a hobby, its an art. You have to have MAJOR patience to do this. I mean think about it, almost everyone at sometime or another has thought, "MAN, i wish i was a sniper..." thats all that video games have been teaching. You have to be able to be excrutiatingly patient and be in great physical condition, you have to know HOW and WHEN to take a shot and when not to, judge distance, have accurate weight in bbs, zero in your rifle, adjust for wind, air density, rain, temperature the list goes on and on.... I have seen countless people spend $800 dollars on a setup, go out, and hate sniping becuase of the lack of action, then selling them on ebay or some equivelant. You will wait in a spot for hours on end with bugs biting you and not even fire a shot. So PLEASE, take this advice to heart and seriously rethink becoming a sniper.

well for the record im the one getting the SVD, so godfather wanted to make sure i wasnt wasting money, most sites say 500fps, ill check it out once i go to AEX to get a scope for it see if they'll chrono it for me, and what sniper certification do i have to go to to make sure it is ok, i know the minimum distance is 100feet but thats about it
Might get more answers if you had the thread title read, "Best Sniper Rifle"
hah, agreed man, a snipers a person, a sniper rifle is a rifle...get it straight, o and just while we're on the subject of grammer, a M16 or M4 or G3 or any other assualt rifle with a scope on it is called a DMR, NOT a sniper rifle...sniper rifles are bolt action...lol im not gonna be strict about that tho, just letting you guys know.
1. A H&K G3 is a battle rifle, not an assault rifle.

Estimate distances? Sadly most people at Sacair can't. Something I will be fixing on the 29th of this month.
sorry, guess i should have clarified a little better. When i said "any other rifle with a scope on it" I meant like the Leupold Mk4 M3's that are being used by the U.S. Army or a Shmidt and Bender thats on the M40A3's. Actual Day scopes, not just an Aimpoint or Trijicon.
I wannabe an airsoft sniper. I wanna live the life of a poser. I wannabe an airsoft sniper. Airsoft snipers tally-hooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

you can pay for school but you cant buy class
ok nvrm mind about the SVD, im getting a type-96, so fps will be fine,
you should get a differnt rifle
you can pay for school but you cant buy class
type 96 is pretty good from what i hear. just as many upgrades as with the aps2. an upgraded hop up would be wise. also, when you get upgrades, stick to first factory. in general, those are the best upgrades...

try not to go over 500 fps with that rifle, the hopup, even an upgraded one, tends to be a little iffy. As far as the qualification course...i think its a shitty idea. If some noobie wants to waste his hard earned money on a hobby that he doesnt even like and sucks at it...go for it. Makes for interesting stories and easy kills. Best story...
yea im gonna get the type-96, with a FF PSS2 M150 spring, a PSS96 L96 TF cylinder, or maybe a guarder, not quite sure, and a PSS96 spring guide.
eh when I'm talking certification I'm not talking about whether or not someone can stalk or act like a sniper. I'm talking more along the lines of safety. Is the person capable of judging engagement distances? And are they able to show good judgement in shots? Is this person even able to hit the broadside of a barn? If it's a gas sniper does this person know how to adjust it so it meets fps requirements? Whether or not they like it or are good at it doesn't matter if they can't show respect for others when wielding a high powered weapon.
