I think this topic was started before but i can't seem to find it right now. Any ideas on what could be used to replace foam in a silencer? I have two right now, a SOCOM with grey foam rings and a phantom kit with compressed cotton rings. I have the opportunity to get a QD M4 silencer sans foam. Needless to say i'm looking for things to put in it :D . Think a bunch of rings cut from a sink sponge would do the trick?
You can try cutting a regular tube sock. Take an old spring and wrap the sock around the spring, then pack that into the suppressor. I, uh, hear that it works great. From the people who have tried it, that is.
i heard there was some type of insulation for outdoor water pipes for your house...im not sure if it works well. but you can sure as hell try it.
i made a supressor out of this green foam that you i think can get at craft stores to stick fake flowers in. it worked alright but i was messing with the hopup on my old mp5k and shot it out.
pipe wrap works well, get the small dia. stuff, any home depot has it like $3-$4
I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!
sweet, i'll give these a try, i guess if all else fails the extra rings from my phantom kit may fit in there... but keep the ideas coming!
try to get different kinds of foam, more dense for the tip, and less dense toward the guns muzzle
