When I am hunting for a good AEG, I keep hearing that M4 & Mp5s are more common. While its players choice, I guess it would have to depend on what the group has, If everyone is playing with M4s or Mp5s, you can be sure, someone will loan ya a mag if your out and in the middle of a fire fight.
All AEGs shoot the same when stock, about 280 FPS.MP-5's are the most common starter AEG's.M4's are more likely to break(Tabs).
Get what you want. If you want distance from a AEG get a sg1. If you want munueverable gun geta MP5. You do lose range with barrel length.
Do not fear the darkness, fear the shadows.....
if your a big guy, i would say go with the new star m249 mkII...very fast rate of fire, pretty light(mostly plastic, but can withstand a lot.) personally if not that, then i would go for either a m4(buy CA or get s-system, if you get a normal tokyo marui m4, you will hate the barrel wobble.) CA is all reinforced barrel, metal body, etc. the s-system from tm has little to no barrel wobble because the RIS stretches onto the top of the gun, giving it strength.or if you like in the middle between sniping and aeg fps, rpm, etc. go with either a m16, or m14.
No AK or G36? No AUG? Come on, its all about the V.3s.
AK are nice,600 round hi cap mags, plenty of ammo without refilling

i run a g36c becasue u never see them as much but i also have an m-15a4 long for the classic look. NOw when it comes to what they shoot stock, all stock TM's shoot about 280fps, where as almost all CA shoot 300- 320 out of the box. BUt dont let that sell you on CA. there motors die aout at around 50,000-75,000 rounds, where as the the TMeg1000 will last about 90,000 maybe more, that and CA have bad pistons they die out early and you lose alot of fps. TM's are great for upgraeding, u do need to throw in new baering and gears when u put a bigger spring in but the tolerences are better, trust me thats very important. I run CA because i like the stock metal bodies and trade marks but i have a lot of internals into them. SO i recomend CA if u want a good stock gun, but will need work more than a stock TM down the road. when it comes to UTG and SRC as ronnie from AEX puts it UTG (Ultimate throwaway GUn) and SRC ive never seen or used on so i dont know. and ICS i dont know alot about them. thats my 2cents.
i personally like those clear guns. they have hella range.

Sniping in airsoft is in itself a very time consuming process. I would classify myself as an airsoft sniper just because of my tactics and experience in it. Although I have a TM M16, it is solely for backup purposes, either with my spotter or as a backup piece of weaponry. Snipers in airsoft get not glory, I am talking about using a spring or gas bolt action rifle, not a DM (designated marksman) using a scoped M16/M4, etc. You have to take the time to make a ghillie that suits the needs of your environment, be able to purchase a reliable platform for which you can snipe with. Many airsoft snipers lean towards a APS-2 or VSR-10/G-Spec, there are many people who waste money on these rifles only to find that in a game it is not fun. In reality, it takes something special to be an airsoft sniper, you have to have a HUGE amount of patience, waiting sometimes 5+ hours without taking more than 1 or 2 shots. Movement wise you are moving NEVER in a straight line or on a beaten path, always through the underbrush and foilage to stay hidden. As far as equipment goes, you could easily spend over 600 dollars on a rifle setup and be happy, but it does cost a LOT of money to get started. A ghillie suit, a camoflauge suit used to break up the pattern of a snipers body in the bush, is probably the most time consuming project a sniper has to deal with. A sniper can easily spend over 40 man hours on a single ghillie, I know of guys who have spent over 80 on SINGLE ghillie, just to get that right texture and pattern. It takes time, devotion, and money, its obviously not for everyone. Lastly, sniping in airsoft is most definitly not useless, you just have to have devotion to the 'art'. A upgraded sniper platform in the hands of good sniper can easily outrange a AEG by 30-50 yards.

Just get which ever AEG you like. You might want to get something that is common like the most common AEG and GBB that the players you play with carry for compatibility issue. However I strongly recomend TMs. I played with the early springer shell and no shell springer airsoft guns . TM were the most reliable ones back then. Now a days there are lots of airsoft AEG manufactures so I would ask people around for their comments before trying out other brands.
Whatever you buy, buy a TM.

Got to agree with Andrew I have owned 6 CA. All diffrent but all of them sucked!! I will never buy a CA again. Always Always stick with the TM. They will never give you problems!!!!!
thx a lot for ur guyses adbvice. I'm thinking maby a m4 TM do u think it would be good if i started playing w/ sacair?
that would be fine, i role with one once and awhile, but like swatmonkey says the barrel wobble sucks so i recomend re-enforcing the barrel, but not neccesary for a while.
how about a CA m4 or m15a4?
if you want to get a CA m15 because of reinforced barrel, metal body, and gears, upgrade this asap:

Buy the TM m4. As long as you make sure the screws are tightened down the barrel wobble is not too bad. A one piece barrel is good too. If you like the m733 i would go with that one. Same performance and upgrade-ability as the m4 but NO BARREL WOBBLE and its shorter. You'll like it. If you want you can come to the shop and play with mine.
