Ok, so I just repaired my mp5 RAS gearbox and tested it out and the bbs go like 10 feet before hitting the ground. :( I have put in steel bushings, an m100 spring and a new tappet plate. I noticed however when I had the gun apart that the initial few teeth on the piston that contact the topmost gear were being worn away slightly. So my guess is that the teeth have worn away to the point where the gear does not lock into the piston until about three or four teeth into its cycle. This means the piston is not being extended fully and therefor not pushing enough air out at the bb.
