Im kind of new to airsoft and I noticed something. I don't see a lot of orange tips on the guns in the pictures ive seen on this site and many others. Though it looks cool...but I thought it was illegal to alter the orange tip. How do you guys get away with that?
I keep it street.
cops got other shit to worry about plus this means they get to shot u its all good i want to be a cop and when i do im not ganna trip on that shit
oh and it will help if u dont wave ur gun around in public
humm this question looks like a trap. well the answer to your question is very carefully, that and we dont go around in public whith our airsoft guns.
Dont fear the night....fear what hunts in the night.....USMC Scout Sniper
does seem like a trap....
[quote="Amateur Ninja"]obviously you dont know him.
Normaly, some guns come with a black tip, with the orange already put on. Some people take it off. Other makers have the orange tip painted on, but nail polish remover or a silencer removes/covers the tip...
I could be completely wrong here but...

im pritty sure that ur aloud 2 play w/ a black tip on but only in confined airsofting zones thats what a cop said anyways
As far as I know it only has to be orange for shipping to the states. Ive seen guns sold at AEX that have no orange and AEX even teflon coats the slide/barrel on your handgun to cover the orange....if you pay. My first GBB, Western Arms M9, bought it through Ebay and it didnt even come with orange(which is their policy).
In close range combat, an unsuspecting melon will get the back of its melon blown off.
It is only illegal to "SELL" replicas without the orange tip. It's not illegal for owner to remove the paint. The deal here is that we only use the replicas within our games with other players and in areas that rangers, sheriffs and other law enforcement are aware that we play. I don't know of anyone that plays in areas where police may deem a player a danger to the public, such as a vacant lot in a residential zone, city street, parking lot, Sunrise Mall, bank or Fort Knox. If it IS against the law, then law enforcement during our Sacair outings simply see no need for the useless paper work. I'm sure that they have better things to do.

here is the deal people. treat your Airsoft guns as if they are real guns. dont branish them or use them within considerable view of the public. if the sheriff comes and sees 40 people with a bunch on assualt type weapons at like the nam field and 10,000 white bbs on the ground I think they got it figured out. NEWS FLASH "THEY KNOW WE PLAY THERE" we have specific fields and local law enforcment knows we are there if some one calls and says there are 40 dudes in camo with guns at the river they know its us we play there all the time. and if not they think its reserve units drilling based on the discription. Now if you and 5 friends go play at a school after hours your screwed. If you transport your airsoft guns as if they are real you cant possibly get in trouble
most guns come with removable red barrel plugs or caps.
