I saw this UTG MP5 at airsoft atlanta and read a couple of reviews that said It was good. Im just wondering If this Is a good starter. (comes with 3 mags yay)
Im up this late anyway so might as well chime in.

The gun is not exactly bad for the price. I got a supposely broken UTG mp5 with M90 spring and systema tightbore barrel in a trade. When I put everything back together it works fine.
Thanx for the help :) And about my other questions?
just check the events section for anyupcomeing games, theres an MILSLIM on the 15th so that all we have planned in the next week but games ussally get scehduled about 3 days befroe hand. so u will know about games on like wed-thurs. Hope that helps, and for gun, stick with TM, or CA. dont buy UTG untill your ready to buy porblems that will need alot of work.
thanx alot and sorry for posting I just was using the magic "search" and that answered alot!!! :D
dude, they rock. true, they dont have range, but thats not what theyre made for. theyre pure and simple cqb smg's, and in that respect theyre great starters. just understand what it is, and dont try and make it a super gun; upgrading pretty much always leads to problems. that said, id get one. i actually plan on it in the near future.
And shephards we will be.
yo, if you get anthing from airsoftaltanta, expectt it to break. Airsoftatlanta has the cheapest crappiest guns
"that's ghetto"
I have had no real problems with Airsoft Atlanta. The only problem I have had is that it takes a week to get your items. I've never ordered a gun from them, just parts like the Hurricane Kits and a fake helmet and had no problems with those items.

hows the motor in those utg's?..... are they like extremely whiny?
i was also looking on shortyusa.com and they ha the utg ak47 and their hi cap mags were $9.99!!!! would that work on a tokyo marui??
So far my UTG has worked just peachy. Ok accuracy, decent range concidering it's FPS and questionable seal with piston and the subpar wiring. I love my UTG MP5 and it's eaten quite a few bags of bbs so far and still functions fine. Although it gets real rough when the batter gets low but that is solved with a better battery than the one supplied by UTG. The new UTG AK looks pretty cool though. Although since I'm not an upgrader I might just get their spring rifle instead and build a simple SWS off it. Has slightly better range than an aeg. Supposedly very quiet as well. If used properly, It can make for a very interesting DM rifle or perhaps even a skirmish SWS. Many snipers in the real world also work within their squads in the thick with them as well so it's not all too far fetched. Bah rambling off topic now, sorry.
8 foot fall eh, ouch. BTW, theres an edit button if ya ever want to edit your post, instead of posting again w/ a quote.
That was the wierd thing. I hit the edit button and it started to quote instead. To solve things I just deleted the older posts. Yeah my friend got suppressed by another group and he was running backwards returning fire. He then fell backwards from a rocky outcropping that behind it extended down 8 feet. Lucky his pack and MY holster with his glock and MY mp5 broke his fall. We were all panicking when we found him down there picking himself up and long story short, the EMTs brought him to the hospital for observational purposes and said he was lucky to not be cripple or dead since the bottom was very rough and rocky.
damn, sucks for both of you, he almost or should have broke something, coulda easily cracked his head since he fell backwards, not to mention your stuff got smushed.
The Kydex holster survived as did the mp5(somehow) Although since the butt of the pistol his the ground and the holster didn't give forward, It busted the mag and split the glock's lower frame. I don't believe airsoft glocks were meant for this abuse.
wow, speaking about broken mags... i had my para pistol in my hand and i had just put the clip in, for some reason i decided to twirl the gun around my finger from the trigger guard and the stupid mag landed on its side right where the bb port is. I checked for leaks, then put mag back into my para. I tried to cock it and when the slide went forward, it would not close all the way. So i take the clip out and cock gun. Works fine. What had happened was that the bb port got bent in just a little so that no bb's can come out or in so i either have to try and bend it back in, or as someone else said(i forgot who) to file it down. Problem is, mag was all the way filled up with bb's. So theres no way to get to the inside part of the port to try to file it or bend it back.
