Lots of people have had problems with ICS. i don't know about their newest versions but in the older ones that were pre upgraded had copper bushings, aluminum pistons and a stock head, a bad shim job and stock gears. personally i wouldn't get an ICS, but some people have limited success with them.

Bodywise the ICS body is well constructed, light and easy breakdown compared to the older CA's and TM. Out of the box FPS it's about 330. As far as internals are concerned, but with everything ICS their 3rd gen.+ aeg's have always performed well. The only thing every ICS needs is a new hopup rubber out of the box.

its hit or miss with ics. i had a ics mp5 that had problems, but then i had one of their newer verions, but it was a m4. the m4 was fantastic, and easiy to upgrade. sometimes you get lucky, and the only reason mikes sucked is cuz he sucks. lol jk

thats the first AEG i bought. Airsplat was always the welcoming mat to airsofters getting into AEG's. I bought the ICS Mp5 SD6. The time i had it, it shot very accurate and hard and i chronoed at AEX and it was at 400 FPS. Airsplat said 360 FPS. Well, now ( about 7 months later) its broken in half(metal body) and sitting in my room.

I used to vehemently defend ICS, but in hindsight, I realize I was just a little nooblet with little experience, and lots of determination to prove myself.

yea i have different worries about ICS/CA/TM....they all have their pros and cons it seems like to me.

As for the mp5 series of any brand, metal bodies doesn't do anything but add weight. I've had both an ICS MP5 and TM MP5J, and externally they both felt solid. If cost is a concern I say get the TM they are about the same if not cheaper. It's hopup unit is far better then the ICS and of course realiability is better.

Yup, I've been working with a few ICS guns for some cousins of mine and yeah. Their metal body is great, easy to take apart and work on the internals. The darn thing is is that if they get upgraded, it sucks. I feel that CA and ICS are a little harder to work on. When you try to put the mechbox back together, it could take a couple of tries since the anti-reversal wants to pop out almost instantly. The TMs however, I don't have that problem, put in the upgrades and bam, close the mechbox with no problem.

I'm pretty nonplussed about the metal bodies on the CA Mp5's... the ejector port looks like it was welded on by coco the gorilla.

yeah, and when the guy moved to florida, he sold it to my other friend for 20 bucks. wasn't working then, but the guy could have sold it for parts for at least $50
