Need some help deciding

Jan 17, 2006 9:04pm
Hey guys, I've been lookin at a few guns, but I can't make up my mind.

I guess my question would be why would you buy from over seas when its about the same price as buying local after you pay the shipping? Otherwise, I prefer my M4 to my AK Spetsnaz. But thats just me. More options for the M4 as far as addons I think.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure on local prices, as I haven't been to a shop yet. My experience in buying paintball gear from most shops is that they charge way too much, when you can get it online cheaper, even after shipping. I'm just using the Internet as a way to get an idea on different gun models, and what you guys feel about them. This doesn't mean I am going to buy it from asia. lol.

IC, well. I would suggest you take a trip up to AEX on Antelope Blvd. I don't work there so I don't know the exact prices, but I believe a standard M4A1 goes for about $255. M4A1 RIS is like $310. Basically the same price if you consider shipping. Plus its local and the people there are cool, don't tell them I said that tho.

HAHA yeah man, I tried to register YOUR name w/ the dash, and I was like. WTF!!! so I had to use an Underscore, LMAO. Whats your first name? Mine is Julion, with an "O", not an "A" lol.

Go with the classic army M-15A4. It is the fixed stock version of the M4. This means you can use a larger battery for higher ROF and longer battery life. Plus classic army uses the meatal body right up front. IMHO the plastic bodies of what you are looking at take to much of a beating. The metal body hold up better over the long run. Also take a look at e-bay. I picked up a CA M-15A4 with battery, charger and 5,000 BBs for around $370.00 shipped.

Yeah, I'm still confused...Whats the word on "SRC" guns? I'm guessing they aren't that great. Well I guess I'll drop by AEX and have a talk w/ someone bout what I should get and check out some guns. Thanks for the help guys!!!

Personaly I would stay away form the SRC lines. They are having a bunch of trouble with thier wiering. Would hate to be in the middle of a fire fight and have my main weapon go down due to electrical failure.

Don't worry about upgrading. Play your guns stock and get used to characteristics. One bad thing about upgrading is that, as a noob you wont know how to fix the gun if it goes down. Upgrading a gun makes it many more times likely to fail internally than just leaving it stock. The range difference is almost negligible. A tag from a stock gun and one from an upgraded one is still a tag. Play till your stock internals wear down THEN upgrade. By then you will know your gun inside and out and will be able to tackle self upgrading with more confidence and knowledge. Seeing as it looks like that you are after a Tokyo Marui, you range should be good and stock will be farther than most other brands out there.

first of all, dont buy SRC...wiring is terrible.

You're wrong, at least for AEG's and some parts and accesories it is still cheaper. Even if you pay for shipping, the AEG is cheaper than an AEG bought at a store in the U.S., you can at least save some money on tax and a few more bucks. . .

Hey man, if you're still debating brand.
Every day above ground is a good day.
