I don't know who would want one.

I would only get one if someone would ban that ugly as sin carry handle. other than that, it's general design is actually kinda pleasing and it just screams of a kinda futuristic LMG. The original was scrapped by the British for it's crappy gas system which didn't handle recoil very well. Not because it's a bullpup. Bullpups actually have better function gas systems for recoil reduction than other standard assault rifles out there. The aug, and famas are concidered very decent in recoil reduction. While the P90 is concidered one of the best in the SMG world.

I beleive Star has also made several modles of the L85, whihc is kinda like the Xm8. A LMG, CQB weapon, Carbine, Standard ( the pict ) and a Sniper varant. I'm just waitin to see if CA or TM will dip it's hand into this one...for the sake of cost.

I don't know... TM seems to stick with Eastern Europe guns and rifles with the Famas being it's bastard child of western Europe. I don't think they'd do a failed English design since it's not all to popular. If you go to Arnies most of the guys there hate it's very existence and their mostly British themselves. If the country that made it hates it so much why would you make it yourself?

I would love to get it if the price was lower. I just hope it doesn't carry the infamus legeasy of constant break downs and constant jamming problems.

Seems like the consensus at Arnie's is that if you want an SA80/L85 is to save yourself some money and get an Academy *shudder* L85 and redo the internals yourself. I don't see alot of advantage to a 700+ USD AEG that doesn't include the SUSAT. Maybe it'd be worth the bother if it came with the sight, but it doesn't....blech.

seems to be a trait of what happens when the British get their hands on something and start tweaking.
