How about the newest from Sig Sauer?

Hmm, I already blew about a grand on another gun. Besides the 5 Mags, what makes it worthy of the price difference as apposed to a standard p226?

I think part of it is the extra grip on the slide.

Personally I would get a nice 1911. SA or even a nice Kimber can be had for $1k. STIs are also around that range for their lowest model I believe. I think there's something near magic and beauty about 1911 and even a bit towards the 2011 frames. If you want. You can purchase a SA Champion 1911 and use it as a base for an upgrade gun. Personally I want to purchase either the G.I. or Mil Spec versions and use it to start as an upgrade base.

Naw, when you go real steel like this, you want to get something with character, performance, and soul. Glocks and berretas just don't have that soul like a sig or a 1911 family pistol.

Sigs are really nice guns. However they are kinda on the expensive side. The Sac PD carries them as well as some of the Sheriff's Patrol Officers. Sigs are known for smoothess and tight tolerances. Most limited editon release handguns don't look much different from the regular production models except for the little special features the manufacture puts in. Resale value on any real steel gun is not that great unless like only less than 500 in existance or the next purchaser is MADLY IN LOVE with that one particular gun.
