I need help, I was changing my grips last night and when I took out the right part, a spring flew off, after a couple of hours looking for the spring I eventually found out. But the problem is, I dont know how to put it back, and I dont really know what kind of spring it is, the best description I can give is that its:
sounds like the hammer spring, tricky little things i advise searching for an online guide that display an image cause those things can be annoying sometimes.
yap... dats wat it sounds like to me too... It was a lil booger to get in when I upgraded my 226... takes some finess... which I have in plenty.. so it was no problem... but... ah.. nevermind.. I'm rambling
Ive been looking around all day for a diagram, all I found was a real steel one, and its way different. Hope you guys can post the pics of that certain area of you P226, thanks!
Sorry, all I can tell you is it goes between the ass end o the hammer and the vimpalator thingamagiggy below it and it's what provides the resistance you feel when you pull back the hammer with your thumb.
Just installing a metal slide gives me a headache, can't possibly imagine installing parts from the plastic body to the metal frame.
I love it. It feels alot more solid and heavy. Looks better too IMHO. I put the metal bbdy and slide kit w/springs and a new metel outer barrel. It nice and loud too, I like
