Airsoft + Public = possable bad sh!t for all
I never would have thought that in all my years of airsoft that I would have to restate the obvious. Do not display an airsoft gun in public view.
I'm a newbie here, so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe displaying airsoft guns in public is against California law:
It is illegal. And so is not having the orange flash hiders on airsoft guns. This the reason why we play in private and out of the public eye. Also at the CQB Field ( once again ) the Sheriff Dept. knows that the field is used for paintball and airsoft, and have been down there before to watch and such ( just one truck and such )
its funny too because later that day he snapped his mp5 in half, so i guess thats what he gets for waving a gun in the air in public :D
....Kind of like the time I went fishing with my uncle at 9 years old. I had to urinate and there were no bathrooms around. So what does a male 9 yr old do when that happens? He goes right where he needs to. I found a place near a fence in which my uncle told me not too. He explained that it was an electric fence and that I'd get shocked. As a kid that knew all, I told him that I knew what i was doing. I proceeded to prepare for my business and pushed out what was making my eyes float. What do you know? I felt like a christmas tree and a cactus rolled into one. There was this sensation of a porcupine running right up the hole of my hose...
well it's over and done with and luckily no harm was done, why don't we stop barraging the guy with comments pointing out how stupid it was etc.... Everyones aware of the mistake, let us simply ensure it doesn't happen again in the future.
This is gonna be a bring bumb. This is for all you newbettes to Airsoft and Sacair.
ok well......just dont do it again.......dont ruin the sport for the rest of us.
i have a friend who once thought it was someone he new behind him in traffic, and so he pulled his spring desert eagle (the grey one, not the clear one) with no orange tip. then he waved it in the air outside his window pointing it at the people behind him in the middle of an intersection.
and when i tell kids that play airsoft at schools that they are going to get Airsoft banned they just brush me off and scared and paranoid.
I remember the old CP days where people whould just drive up and ask us about our guns. I particularly remember a little boy and his grandpa coming up and us letting them shoot some of our guns.
All alone he turns to stone
Here's something just to put it into perspective for the noobs. I did a google news search for airsoft. The first result, posted 21 hours ago detailed 2 younger kids shooting the guns at passing cars. The cops showed and arrested them at gunpoint. Here is the link:
AGM-65 Maverick:
wow thats an eye opener lol
well because this was bumped again for all to see i might as well post this again, as i did in another thread that was locked, just to answer the question "wouldent they look for the orange tip?"
Cops will look for a threatening(Sp?) movement like reaching for a gun. So of course they will shoot. Thats why people will get shot over reaching for a wallet.
All alone he turns to stone
If a officer feels as though his, his partners, or innocent are at stake, they WILL act with deadly force. If you flash even toy gun, in a theatening manor, the officer can act in self defence, equaling in shots fired.
good post to bump to much bad shit can happen from people being stupid and playing in public area's (more specifically in view of the public) regardless of the "orange" tip.
So far, from the amount of info I've gained over my days playing airsoft, So long as you have Permission from the land owner, Law Enforcement knows what your doing, and the pubic has a idea of whats going on ( maybe even having signs arund enterences saying "Airsoft Game in progress") you can, in theroy, play anywhere.
Thanks Josh- maybe some people will read your post again.
Every day above ground is a good day.
i remember a story i heard about a middle school student with a m9 airsoft pistol holding up some students in the bathroom, and later being shot by a swat officer.
hey, hte kid pointed the pistol at the officer. I support the officer in that action.
ya know...that's just...
He says some children color the orange tips to make the guns look more real. Gangs in some cities are joining the trend, by painting the tips of real guns orange to confuse police officers.
hmm, I have two options before airsoft is banned:
this needs to be trimmed / locked then sticked, maybe even posted on the front page!
