Now, I have read though that TM or CA thread, but that doesn't help.

TM for me, why M14 :D

i own a tm and think that ca is better, because there is more metal in them and its a stronger feeling gun when your using them. i dont no about working on them or if they are upgrade friendly.

i would say tm, better in the long run. more durable...even though the CA's come with better spring and metal body, it still wont over power the fact that the TM internals are WAY better for upgrading. the CA usually have to get a piston/piston head fixing after about 500 shots, or when you get the gun. the spring being pre-upgraded and all gives more wear on the gearbox out of the box. the tm maybe have a plastic body, but it is still way better in the long run. i have owned both guns on my airsoft life, and ill still say tm is way better when it comes down to better gun.

I used to think CA were better, then i learned that CA gearboxes have loser tolerances, meaning more slap on the gear boxes. I have all TM now and i couldnt be happier. Now TM just needs to some out with it own SAW.

i would say TM. i never have any problem enternally and there still very durrable. not as durrable as a CA cuz Ca's are all metal, but you can just get metal upgrades for your TM. thats wut i think

Internals of the TM are WAY better...They will last longer if properly used

ok having read rab and monkey threads i must agree with them i did not know about the weak internals of ca just the outer body. also i have had no problems with the box of my tm.

I think CA's are better for starting players like me, there solid and good shooters out of the box, for a cheep price. but if you have the money to invest, TM rifles are great. no doubt they have a stronger gearbox, but most have two piece outer barrels that you almost immediately have to replace, along with the receiver. basically we're comparing Ford and Chevy trucks, they wouldn't be in competition if one was significantly better.

Consider writing your paper regarding the cost of each brand (bang for the buck), the possible needs/desires for each player (reliability, versus weight), and the "reputation." I say reputation because you'll only be citing opinions, observations, and speculations since there aren't any empirical metal or quality analysis that I am aware of. Because of that, it might be difficult to come to a "concrete" conclusion on which is better.

Not to bash you or anything but I think that it is a bad topic to write about.

its a college paper....and I would prefer not to do it on Airsoft or Paintball...since the paper would be completely onsided.
