Sniper AUG

I'm planning on converting my AUG into a sniper rifle and want feedback on the conceivability of this. I'm not sure what internals would be best to have for a sniper weapon that would fire at ~500fps or how the current ones would hold up. The internals go as follows:

The biggest obstacle you'll run into with a big spring is a battery manly enough to pull it back. I ran a 9.6v 1500mah AUG/SAW battery that fit in the endcap (no battery compartment modification) and it was pretty sad with a 120. I went the LiPo route and am nothing but happy.

I have a pretty modest set up in my AUG. It's shooting about 380fps with nothing too special done on the inside. It's got a silent head set with type "o" cylinder. KM inner barrel (590mm?) running the full length of the shadow AUG silencer--the sucker is long and weird looking, but I've had compliments on its range and how quiet it is.

I also have the phantom kit. I love it :D .

i had an AUG with two complete barrel systems, and SMG one and a Std sized one and a phantom kit. I always thought it'd be cool to have two complete gearboxes too so if i wanted to snipe i could put in the 500 fps box and go since its so easy to change them. Alas i never had enough money or patience to make the project a reality but i think it was a good idea, if you've got the cash go for it

My plan isn't really to have separate gearboxes, but simply to take it apart each time I need to change it. All that would need to be replaced would be the spring, which isn't too difficult.

The reasons I haven't done anything with lipo batteries is for three reasons. 1) From what I hear they are expensive (I don't know where to find them at either) 2) They require special chargers...I think (and if so, are they expensive?) 3) The whole "flammability" issue. I'm not an experienced airsofter and don't know how much I would trust myself with a battery that can catch flame as easily as it sounds (or is it? I'm not sure how easily they can be accidentally ignited).

Whatever you do, dont use a 'titanium' or metal piston. Or even the ones with all metal teeth. Piston is a damn good place to put a sheer point in the machine.

That's 85$ for the battery...130$ for the charger...55$ for the barrel...

You will be much happier with an actual sniper rifle.
