Do you really need that plate? I thought you could use the gun w/out the plate....

No, I think the gearbox pushes back against it when firing, and if the plate isn't in place then the gearbox won't go back forward. At least that's my conlusion after a bit of minor testing...I'll play around with it a little later when I get back home and see if I can make-do without it.

all you really need is the top part of it from about the point where the two top screws go in up. Maybe you can make a replacement with a dremel and some plastic from somthing. You can't get a replacement part for it unless you know someone whos parting out their AUG.

That's the bad things about owning a gun that doesn't have parts for...

i say ghetto rig it dude...its such an easy part to make. i can get a peice of old radio or something random, drill the 2 holes for the screws, and your set. :lol:
