Li-Poly Battery

Mar 7, 2006 1:38am
I'm looking into buying a Li-poly battery but i have a few questions. Will they destroy my TM stock internals, are thay really equivalent to a 9.6v 3300mah battery (that's what i've heard), and where can i get one.

from what i know, no they are much more powerfull than a 9.6, and they will most likley destroy your stock tm

just like nicads it depends the voltage, MAH and discharge rate....

I played with a guy on saturday that was running them in stock TM internal (supposable) and it was awesome

depends on what kind you get....some people get the 11.1v's and some get the 7.4v's...the 7.4 i know for a fact will not f*cvk up your internals...because if a 8.4 wont, then how will a 7.4??? also, the 11.1v will be better for upgraded guns, the high rof will spin the gears so fast that they will strip really quick...i would say get a gun with a m100-m120, and get the 11.1v, get some nice rof out of it...might want to upgrade the gears if you want, but i used a mp5 that didnt have upgraded gears with the 11.1v li-po, and it didnt strip the whole time i used it...

I run lipo's in almost all my guns now and I can honestly say they make a huge difference when it comes to ROF. I run the 11.1v 2100mah in my saw with a 120 spring and stock gears....I have ran about 20,000 rounds through it and the only problem I had was blowing up pistons.......Please note that these batteries can catch fire if you run them down too far....it is very important that you dont let the battery voltage run all the way down like you can with just about any other battery. Alos note thta they are very delicate..I have had to replce one already that swelled becasue I left it in my gear bag and it got banged around...jsut an FYI

It was me at the Sat game that had the LiPoly's. The M4 I was running has only the spring and bushings replaced as far as internals. The SD6 I let someone borrow also runs a lipoly. It also has only the spring and bushings upgraded. I have blown one piston so far with them, although I recently purchased a LARGE 4000mah LiPoly, my AK ran for about a 500 rounds before the fuse blew, I have yet to determine what else may have been damaged, but I will let everyone know.

hmmm....what are the consequences of still having the fuse? other than it dying.

resistance...lipoly absolutely hate resistance. Using higher end plugs and wiring is a must. Reduce heat generated by resistance and you will have a very safe and healthy lipoly. Though this goes for all batteries.

Keven has an insightful review on lithium batteries on his website http://neoairsoft.home.comcast.net/lithium.html He knows a crap-load about these things, and he seems to favor them. It's worth a look.

But what are the benefits to a Li-Poly battery?
Coolwater airsoft is a bunch of queers hence they all dress pretty and match all the time, most of them are simply adults that live at home still, when they arent doing airsoft stuff they like to play D&D and have circle jerks, they all voted for Jon Kerry and are democrats

Smaller, lighter, better discharge rating, and more efficient. Which all translates into it lasts longer between charges and more powerful @ lower voltages.
