BLM Land and Airsoft...

Mar 7, 2006 7:22am
My friends and I are interested in maybe playing in some of the BLM land that is in the area. I know that the reason sacair is able to play at the sites we do is because of the fact that it is BLM land--what sort of restrictions should we watch out for if we are trying to find a new site? I don't want to put the airsoft hobby in any sort of jepordy because of irresponsible behavior. Would any land that can be used for target shooting be fair game for airsoft as well?

Target shooting? Wouldn't that be like playing in a live mine field? Maybe the BLM would be OK with it, but what about common sense? Ya know that there are people that use real bullets and what not at those target shooting places right? I suggest that it would NOT be fair game. :)

For target shooting, stick with establisehed ranges.
And should another macabre spectacle like that occur... I can promise you gentleman a day of reckoning you will not live long enough to never forget. -Way of the Gun

There is BLM available to play on in Latrobe normal people dont have access to it because a Judge moved out there and put a gate up so no one can get in but he said he would allow me access or other airsofters as long as we dont have real steel
Coolwater airsoft is a bunch of queers hence they all dress pretty and match all the time, most of them are simply adults that live at home still, when they arent doing airsoft stuff they like to play D&D and have circle jerks, they all voted for Jon Kerry and are democrats

He would allow, heh. He cannot stop access to BLM land, period dot.
Mar 7, 2006 6:29pm
I know that it is not legal for him to put a gate there but he does since he is a judge they all look the other way I went as far as reporting it to the blm office in folsom they told me they would look into it, but nothing ever came from that.... but he has since told me that he would allow me in, get this on memorial day weekend he posted an armed guard at the gate, he doesnt want the type of people that go down there alot to drive past his house we have found tons of syringes and stuff of that nature down there someone also dumped a safe that they had stolen out there

There are certain restrictions to BLM land, if there is shooting allowed out there that's ok. If it's a known range I wouldn't play out there *there are 8 in ca*.
Mar 7, 2006 6:45pm
absolutely, this place was hunted but no one does anymore the consumnes river goes throught the middle of it and it has some excellent camping spots just harder to get to without a good 4x4

The land SacAir plays under -- NAM, CQB Field, The Hill, etc -- what category of land would those fields fall under?

Well I just spent 20 minutes over at a local BLM Office. I asked if Air Soft was allowed to be played on land that is under BLM jurisdiction. His answer was yes and no. Most of the land south of the fork is closed to any type of weapons fire. He suggested that the best area would be in the Georgetwon or Garden Valley area. The hardship is getting the permission. If you have a group of under say 50 people and the event is a casual or not for profit event the BLM must approve of the location you chose. If they approve of everything they will give you written permission. The permission may have stipulation such as no fires or something to prevent destruction of the land.

(Spooky)...thanks for doing all that leg work. I've done a few cases up there in Geargetown, Cool and Garden Valley.....hell, actually all over California in the woods...etc. Anyway Georgetown and Garden Valley would be ideal for a lot of us that live between Auburn and Sacramento. The distance would not be that bad at all

That's easy for you to say. I'm all the way down here in the 209 area. =(

so no to the blm in latrobe? that is wierd because they have told me it is okay to play there as well as hunt and camp there, so I guess it all determines who you speak with at blm

It was in the folsom office across the street from the court house,.... in reality we could play there simply because no one else has access to it cause of the locked gate and all

We are anxious to get out to Latrobe for some airsoft scenarios....a different atmosphere...a different environmet...etc (I used to live in Folsom, too, by the way...Spooky).
Mar 13, 2006 11:28pm
Ok well what ever then. I saw people were curious and so i took my own time to go down and see. The man said the answer was yes and no. That meaning it was not an easy answer.

Actually..spooky, I'll go down there, again, with you. Just let me know when you have the time and I'll go down there with you and see if we can get something done. This doesn't have to be a big deal..who cares what the other guys think that are on this site. We are men, we can go down there and get something done ourselves. I won't mind going there + my occupational duties may help a little with getting solid permission.

just stating what I have been told no need to get bent out of shape I will just get you guys a key to it and you can go there whenever you want

It's all good...no big deal and we're not bent out of shape, yet....(I'm 34, when does it actually get bent out of shape..at 50 or? I hope not LOL...LOL). If nobody gets this...they really are bent out of shape, then, I guess..LOL..LOL...
