I have 2...al you really need to do is drop a 120 spring in it and your good to go...stock gears are already torque up, also comes with 8mm bearings...oh yeah a box mag helps..lol

Box mag is a must. Ronnie at aex can wire it so that it feeds 2300 rds with out having to wind the mag. Spray and pray.
Mar 10, 2006 9:46pm
yup without a box mag youll end up cuttin your wrists every time you stop to wind the stupid hi cap. ya and spring replacement is rediculously easy, you fold the stock back and pop out a little cylinder and vuala, spring comes right out the back. shove a new one in and youre good to go. plus the full metal body is soooooo much more realistic than TOP or STAR. also holds a 9.6 3600 in the stock. great ROF and lasts forever.
And shephards we will be.

One thing that I was told by Ronnie at aex was not to put a 9.6 in the gun because it tends to jam. Like I said I don't know this for sure or even if I heard this right but you might want to check it out.

hmmmm a faster rate ROF Shawn? when i used it it was fast enough, the mag couldnt even keep up with it, i had stop shooting to let the dam mag catch up with me, almost got me hit  but yeah COnfirmed get one, funnest gun i have ever used. (to all you anal retentive people, i know funnest isnt a word)

Why not Systema gears? I ran Flat standards I a PGC V2 box, which as you know is the gear box design that CA ripped off for their m249. I have had no problems for over a year.

I tried systema high speed gears. And the lobe on the sector gear hit the teeth on the spur gear and locked up
Mar 11, 2006 3:32pm
That'd be a good reason not to, Cain, yup :)

I have had NO problems with Systema gears in my SAW or any other gun for that matter.

Craig, You forgot to mention that you have a PGC V2 gearbox. My Systema gears wouldn't work in the stock CA box :( . I don't have any other systema gears to try. And see if it was just the high speed gears that didn't want to work in it.

There have been a lot of posts debating on which is better the Top or CA 249. Both sides seem to be equal in their thoughts about which 249 is dominant. So it seems as beofre one should go to AEX and decide off of personal preference after trying them both.

What did they change on the version 3 gearbox from the version 2 PGC...I've been eyeballing one of those but none of our shops have one that I can look at.
