TAD's hardshells are pricey as well but only a little bit more than the comparable REI product... it seems that any eVent jacket will run you at least $300 regardless of brand (mostly made by ski/snowboard companies from what I can find). My Predator hardshell is still my favorite jacket for wind, rain, and snow.

I made the arduous 10 minute trek to the shop yesterday and picked up the Ranger Hoodie v5. It's a good thing I did too, half of the smalls have already been sold. I loved it so much, I decided to wear the hoodie to class last night.

Which verison of the Maska did you get? The one with the open slot view port or the ballistic glass view port?
I'm going circa 2005 for the impression, using stills and video from the Beslan incident as documentation. The Maska is the version with the steel face plate.
