GEAR WHORES UNITE!!!
Just got this one in. Anyone want to guess what it is? Hint: Based on the SPEAR/BALCs System for CQB.

Can someone answer me this?
That is why the Army and Marines are taking the Size Extra-Small SAPIs and locating them on the sides of thier torsos. Yes, many wounds have been at the sides and upper arm area since the stance exposes those areas. There are also Ballistic Plates availible that fit on the upper arm and thigh areas, with the appropriate Level 3A soft armor of course. The thing is you are adding at least 20 more pounds to an allready heavy (60 lbs plus) armor sytem. This means slowing down your dismounted mobility. That is why you see Special Forces and other Direct Action teams wearing only the minimal protection. Sometimes ONLY ceramic composite plates with NO soft armor. The trade off is increased mobility. When I was deployed back in 1990, we had never trained with body armor. Right before going into Iraq, we were issued vests. They were so cumbersome and effected our mobility so drastically that we gave them back! Until technology allows for lighter and thinner ballistic armor (Think Star Wars Stormtrooper) the added protection will decrease mobility.

True Erin, but, you have to think...how hard would it be to shoulder a weapon if there was armor over the arms, more up the arms, etc...the cut it out like that so it will be somewhat easier to feel better, and also shouldering weapons easier. i like the idea, but it isnt necessary for airsoft...just because it would get in the way most of the time...
heres my virgin gear...haha. dont worry, ill put more stuff on soon to the carrier, but its fine for now...
I can only imagine the restraint it must put on you.
Some great dialog here. Never thought you airsofters would be so gear savy. But then again it is the GEAR WHORES UNITE! thread. Lets see more photos like this....

Nice! For those coolwater events that actually involve water!

Reminds me of those Soviet "flak-jackets" coming out of Afganistan in the 1980's. SOF Magazine had gotten ahold of one for a write up. They cut open the cells and found WADS OF COTTON! They were no balistic properties. More of a "Hero" vest. If your superiors tell you its bullet-proof then its bullet-proof, right?

ohhh man, wouldn't it be really funny to actually see some noobish tard on the field with that stearns thingy, HAHAHA... :D :) :P

anyone know anything about Milspex's copy of Eagle Industries' CIRAS? The guy who did the review of their vest for Airsoft Retreat wants to sell his to me for $80 without pouches. I'm wondering if that's a good deal. He says it's nice, but I want a more proffessional opinion.
Supposedly the Milspex is a rebadged Phantom. I've got both the CIRAS and RAV made by Phantom and the stitching is pretty decent on the rigs. For $80 you can't go wrong.
