GEAR WHORES UNITE!!!

Jun 27, 2006 6:16am
It is a nice copy. My buddy has one and it has been holding up good. For $80, it is a good deal. Oh, and it is made from Cordura.

Being made of cordura means very little if the stitching sucks. That is what you have to look out for more then anything else.

Of course the stitching has to be good, I am just saying that a lot of replica gear is made from crap material also. So, saying it is made from cordura is a good thing. But anyways, I have seen this vest in person, and it is nice. The stitching is very good actually..

Thanks for the advice, that is a good idea. Yup, I have a double HSGI pistol mag puch and one more TT utility pouch coming in the mail. And my new Multicam Productions uniform should be here by Friday, I hope.

My current new Multicam equipment list:

Last I talked to them about their multicam products they said 6-8 weeks backorder. I have a few pouches from diamondback and they are decent products. Though for some strange reason their coyote brown stuff have already faded. I mean within less then a month. Go figure. I personally do not backorder items so they can concentrate on filling orders for those who truly need them.

That's nice that you do that.....thinking of those who serve. Very observant.

one thing I learned from a Marine sniper was that it's easier to make yourself darker then it is to lighten yourself. While multicam isn't the end all be all camo. It's the best base layer available, allowing one to layer upon that based on the operating environement with minimal effort, weight and bulk. ;)

One more reason why I go out with the multicam pattern...sometimes 3-color, as well.........but now, mostly with multicam and my regular climbing gear. Sometimes conducting the assignment overtly works out better, depending on whther or not the location and environment is urban or suburban.... so in my world it works the same way, if not more

Hey (freq88) did you ever talk to Diamondback Tactical about the pre-mature fading on your Coyote Brown pouches?
Jun 30, 2006 2:00am
Well fortunately, they are probably using Crye material., so I wouldn't worry. A lot of coyote and od gear is dyed, since there is no camo pattern.

If you guys like MultiCamo, then you should see what Cyre is developing for SFOD-D. Of course then they would have to kill you 8)

As long as it's genuine Crye material I wouldn't worry about fading with them. All my multicam gear has yet to fade even when exposed to 100+* for several hours each week.

FYI - There is no MultiCam "copy" material out there. The printing is all controlled by Crye. The printing process is very difficult to copy since the colors have to fade into eachother. Anyone can order bulk materials through the Crye website. It is all printed in the USA on USA made materials.

the new combat gear is going to be so awesome

There is fake Crye material. It is made in China. Although some Chinese companies do use Crye material, some make their own.
