For those of you that like to play on BLM land, parks, or other public land, you may want to take note of the 2006 Dangerous Weapons Control Law, chapter 6.
And should another macabre spectacle like that occur... I can promise you gentleman a day of reckoning you will not live long enough to never forget. -Way of the Gun

Coolwater airsoft is a bunch of queers hence they all dress pretty and match all the time, most of them are simply adults that live at home still, when they arent doing airsoft stuff they like to play D&D and have circle jerks, they all voted for Jon Kerry and are democrats

I tried to call the Sac County DA to ask about this law and was told to email my question. Hey SBUDude what do you think about this law?

I'm not sure this would apply to BLM land (maybe parking areas).

this is bad news bears for the CQB and NAM fields

Nope. You can be arrested for public intoxication in your front yard also... For general purposes of the Penal Code, a public place is any place open to public view, whether or not public or private property.

All is not lost you kind of missed some of that:

It would apply to BLM. Not that law enforcement is going to come out looking for you, but you would get a cite if they received a complaint.

This whole law is news to me. I will be at the Sacramento D. A.' s office tomarrow. I will try to get some clarification, but I would bet that we still fall under the "sporting event" exception.
Now I'm just like every one else. I do what I'm good at, and I do it for money.

that bill is a disgrace to this country. it makes me sad, but it seems like the red stripes on old glory get a little thicker every day.

(g) For purposes of Sections 12551 and 12552, the term "BB device" means any instrument that expels a projectile, such as a BB or a pellet, not exceeding 6 mm caliber, through the force of air pressure, CO2 pressure, or spring action, or any spot marker gun.
Gun control is not Crime control.

Remember guys... This is more of a letter of the law vs. siprit of the law issue. The spirit of the law is to reprimand and eventually punish the irresponsible among the sport, not to hurt the responsible players. And since most airsoft fields occure in the county rather than the city, you're dealing with Sheriffs who are by far more concerned with spirit vs. letter. For the most part you will be fine unless there is a complaint.

It is against the law to fly a kite in San Francisco also, but you do not see them handing out tickets to everyone for it. Laws are enforced (when dealing with rational people) to serve and protect, not restrict and hinder. Oral sex is illegal also, ok..., well leave that one alone.

Like I said I emailed the Sacramento District Attorney's Office about this issue. This is ther response;

I spoke with the filing DDA for El Dorado county last night. She stated that BLM and SRA areas would fall under this statute. Subsection (d)(4) would only apply to production games, such as Roundhouse's games on Ft Ord (for which they have written permission from the City of Marina). And as far as (d)(12), hunting and firearm discharge is not permitted on all BLM and SRA property. And even in those areas, if the display is menacing it would fall under PC 417.4.

My opinion tends to fall into line with the belief that, unless a sheriff is in a real a-hole mood one day, it's very unlikely that any of them are going to take issue with us enough to enforce this and ticket 30 people.
Meet every day like a swift kick to the groin

Agreed. I would be more apt to cite the retards playing in their cul-de-sac or behind their apartments, worrying the neighborhood.
