Dynamat + Gearbox = Bad
I think this Dynamat was used incorrectly. Here you go Andrew.

Wow... Very messy way to go. Wait, I've got dynamat in my AUG, both in the stock and around the gearbox!
yeah it can posibly gum up your gear box. we think the gear box above is gummed up. any ways, why would you do that to a gear box? its not going to do much...

Oh... didn't know that. Electrical tape on the holes really helps? I thought covering those holes might have somehow reduced airflow in the cylinder or something, so I didn't cover them. If you're going to the April 30th game you'll see me, but I don't know if you'll still have that AUG. They seem to sell quick, especially if they're quieted.
yes dynamat does help the noise, but its supposed to be applied to the inside of the body, and not the gearbox

Joe the electrical tape over the holes was to keep the filter foam from getting in and gumming up the internals :) . I think i told you i had the whole thing stuffed with foam for a while i just never took the tape off when i took the foam out
Whoever thought dynamite and a gearbox would go good together is an absolute idiot.
Gun control is not Crime control.

lol i think thats mine is that mine?
the foam made the AUG a lot quieter. It was fish tank filter material. Heres the link to where i got the info on quieting the AUG.

snoopy and neouser have done this with really awesome results (mp5 and aug respectively). but yeah, you have to be careful cause dynamat conducts electricity or something. i don't think dynamat+agearbox is necessarily bad...but it has to be done right...
What's a signature?
no, this was bad when he put the dynamat on the gearbox because the heat melted the stick surface into the gears.
