On the M16/M4 the safety catch is only on the left side, so how is it possible to use it if you hold the grip with your left hand? I have seen photos of soldiers holding the M16/M4 with their left hand, so it must be possible, but how?
Its kinda hard to get a visual. For me, I hold mine like a righty if need be.
Am I wrong in thinking that there are ways to make AR-based guns ambidextrous at least in regards to the selector switch?
Im a left handed shooter and i find it vary easy to operate the safety and fire select on my m4. as far as the ak i just switch the fire modes with my right hand it really is no big deal.
In real life? perhaps, but for airsoft guns its not practical.
for a M4, its easier to do the selector switch with your left hand, and no, its quite hard to switch on a AK, the ak is harder to select than an airsoft one, so its harder to do what i usually do...as in, move the selector switch with my thumb...for an AK, AUG, etc. any type of gun that ejects the shells on the left side of the gun, they will not hit your face...well, the aug will...haha.. not much, but enough to make you flinch a little bit. i would rather be a lefty than a righty in real steal and airsoft, just because of the manuverability with the selector switch on the M16 series...
Speaking on airsoft only...
