CA G36C vs. TM G36C
OK, me and a friend were just shooting these off this morning and this is what we got:

The ca is good but the switch assemblies suck

had a discussion like this a week ago
Like I said. On Auto-Fire, the CA lacked big compared to the TM. The TM on the other hand didn't hold the same range or accuracy. Its a matter of what your looking for. I'm new to airsoft, and I've been doing is my research. What I'm finding is that CA comes better stocked (FPS, Range, ect) but the TM makes up for that in reliability. For me personally, I like my new CA, not being biased on it fully, but I prefer the range over fps consistancy. I don't really like the Full-Auto either, on either rifle. I like the Semi Auto, that way i'm not shooting 30 rounds at a guy when i can do it in 5.

In the short run, you like CA ,you stated that, but think about the long run, reliability is key, because it will always cost you money eventually, and the amount of issues i have heard about with the CA G-36 from the switch assembly to compression issues, etc, from reliable people who work on their internals , would lead me to go with a TM on this occasion

Reliability problems for me only were the auto fire, bb's seemed to lose speed and distance after a while.

CA gear boxes are bad and the motors have alot of problems you should talk to guys at AEX about fixing CA guns and the problems that happen with them You would just end up replacing the gear box with a tm
i'm not denouncing your comments nightblade, i'm just saying that the short-term problems i think can be fixed.

I have had both the ca and tm. Yes the ca is way better out of the box then the tm BUT you can fix the tm with a few upgades. The only reasom the ca is shooting harder out of the box is because it come with a 100 spring, the tm is about an 80. The body on the tm is undoutbly better then the tm but that is the only good thing about it. Plus the ca has it own parts, you can really only put ca parts in it to make it work correctly. I would go with the tm cause it will be way better in the long run.

We just Chrono-ed it, the TM came out at 245FPS and the CA came out at 290FPS. These were with .2g bbs. I think in the end though, the CA is the better buy for my personal preference.

agreed, my ca body isnt that clean and precise.
There is no real advantage to getting a CA replica of a gun that isn't made of metal in the real world. The main advantage of getting a CA rifle is the metal body, but in a rifle such as the G36 series, it is made out of plastic in real steel, CA and TM forms.
I have no experience with either gun but I have taken one apart.

Remember: Those are BRAND NEW ratings. Advertised fps ratings are for NEW SPRINGS. Once broken in they will have a lower than advertised FPS. Rule of thumb is about 20fps.

on single shot, the CA seemed to level off at a few shots at about 5fps usually below rated.

On the money you save from buying the TM instead of the CA you can drop in a tightbore to help catch up to the accuracy and range of a CA. An M100 or M110 with a 9.6v batt will probably make up the difference. I bought my tm g36c already upgraded, but I've heard the stock gearboxes and gears can take quite a bit of abuse. The tm body is plastic, the CA body actualy uses a glass fiber body. They feel different, and look slightly different, (the CA looking slightly better) but one doesn't feel anymore solid than the other to me. Although the glass fiber body muffles the gearbox noise a bit better, but quieter isn't always better.
I've used both and I have to say this, If your an upgrade person, get a tm
If ignorance is bliss why aren't more people happy?
I laughed reading this...
just putting it out there to help the battle of TM vs. CA

LOL. TM has great hop up so u dont have to have it all the way on for the bbs to go straight. But i guess that with CA it has to be all the way up. Tm will definitely be able to out preform the CA if both are upgraded. Plus if your shooting stock of either at a SacAir game, you wont do very well.

I have a Star G36C and i like it a lot. The only problem is that the range isn't amazing but full auto is smooth and semi is too. Reliability for me at least has been amazing so far
