Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, I've heard that. The woman in the background always goes "ooooh nooO!!" "AHHHH" and stuff.
I think its a mistake, lol not like guys are rolling Guarder RACK replicas or somthing.
I did a current event about this for JROTC today. As I said in class, I think soldiers have the right to choose their own protection. And I think that that "hard earned money" being spent on armor of the soldier's choosing would give the family more comfort while the guy (or gal) is in a combat zone.
I believe the military should have a tried and approved list of equipment. A guarantee from the manufacture and a nuetral product testing organization to confirm that they meet the military's minimum standards. Other than that, I don't see what the problem is if a soldier buys his own equipment. It should be their right if they want "better". By all means, if the product is proven and they're willing to spend the cash, what's the problem?

We can buy and use our own equipment just not any other body armor. I was 2 different types being worn, you can purchase your own if you want but it must be the same as what was issued. As far as not getting any Armor, Bull you wont even set foot out of Kuwait without it.
