ummm i dont think u can, i had a g36c CA back in the day and it treid to mount my red dot on it but it woludnt work, the top rail is to small, i would say leave it on and mount the scope to the top rail and use low scope mounts.

too small? I've been able to mount a reddot on the g36c rails. Putting a scope ontop would be redundant and look really really stupid. Not to mention you would have a very hard time using the scope since it would be too high even with low mounts. Unless of course you have the neck of a giraffe.

I have a red-dot on my G36C and it works fine. Taking off the rail is kinda dumb because that's what gives the G36 it's style. If you do put it on the very top that would look awkward. Maybe if you are using a paintball mask that would justify that but other than that...

err i was tired still am when i typed that, i ment with the upper rail off i was unable to attach my red dot to it. mabye im just stupid, hell i dont know. but yes it would look dumb with a scope on there. get the rail with the intergrated scope if it fits on it.

my bro did this with his full length g36. it originally had the same carrying handle with the integrated scope that the K has, so we just swapped it right out for a g36 carrying handle, which has the rails instead. and yes, it will hold optics.
And shephards we will be.

star makes a number of accesories for the g36, which includes the g36c and sl-9 lowprofile rails. The sl-9 rail is preferable since it doesn't have any iron sights to get in your way. With the g36c rail, the scope has to be able to fit within the iron sights, and still be in focus for you, and has to be put on a see-through or high mount to look over the iron sights. The sl-9 rail is identical, except it doesn't have any iron sights, and gives you more freedom to mount the scope as high/low forward/back as you like.
