welcome to sacairsoft eric! the M4 is a great choice for a beginner and would be a good idea to go with the DTS one (they're a great dealer). Sacairsoft is ALL about being in a "chill" type environment, so no worries there. the guns have good range and u can upgrade/downgrade it to whatever u want it to pretty much. Have fun! if u have any more questions, just post and im sure anyone will be glad to answer.

IMO metal bodies make too much noise, and a stock m4 (metal upgrade wise) is the best choice

yea m4's are a great choice, i highly recommend getting one. it was my first airsoft gun, and it was great.

Cool. Is the M4 im looking at a good one? Is it basically an upgraded TM? Does it has a metal body? Are their any horror stories on the DTS m4a1?
Mar 14, 2004 1:29am
nope, no horror stories on M4's that ive heard of period...

I'm assuming you're looking at the m4 on the bottom? If so, yeah it's basically a TM m4a1 thats upgraded internally. No metal body installed. The question isn't whether it's a good gun (it is good btw), it's the price listed for that. Remember that buying from hong kong is gonna cost you quite a bit (prolly around 40-50 bucks).

Ok, i tried going to fortress hobbies twice with no luck. Once at noon on a saturday and once this past friday at 3pm. Both times nobody was there. Im sure they're good guys but that's just really poor business ethics... makes me think they don't care about my time... something i really lack these days

I would go to Norca Army Navy on Auburn Blvd. He doesn't have TM guns, he currently sells Classic Army, and ICS. He only has Classic Army M16 varients. His prices are a bit higher than what your going to see online, but he does upgrades, and Classic Army is full metal. He has regular hours, so you can pretty much stop by 7 days a week. Sundays he closes at 5. Look him up in the phone book, or go to his web page to get more info. http://www.norcaarmynavy.com/

"Anyway, if you were in my shoes and wanted a TM m4a1, complete tune up kit and battery which would you get for 350-380fps and what ONLINE vendor would you use?"

In my opinion if you have never held an airsoft gun or even seen one? You mite want to go to NorCal or Fortress and check the guns out first. If you really want a metal gun. Go to NorCal, the owner sells Classic Army guns which come upgraded, and come all metal. They cost a few bucks more, but the owner is a Vietnam Vet so you'll get along with him.

I think we've established that this guy doesn't want to go to fortress and since norcal only has CA and ICS I think that is outta the question. He is asking about online vendors that will get him exactly what he wants. So here we go...

If you don't get the gun upgraded online, Jeff at Norca does do upgrades, and he does a pretty good job. I understand you want a TM, but when you do go for the other upgrades, I think he's the man you want to talk to. He has REGULAR business hours, and is almost always at the shop himself. Give him a call, and see what he can do for you. I put the link to his page in my earlier post, so check it out.

Thanks for everyone's input so far.

I have an m15a4 RIS. you're right. some of the CA's are lemons. Mine was. I had to replace the piston, piston head, and cylinder head. The motor is fine though. YOu might have problems with the tappet plate and the spring guide. But if you're getting an FTK anyway, there's nothing to worry about. However, I still think that if money is not an issue, you should get a TM and go aftermarket body and internals. Yes the CA is cheaper, but really you get what you pay for. The metal body and internals are not to the caliber of systema/guarder/hurricane. If money doesn't matter, why not get the top of the line you know what I mean?

or just go to my shop...LoL...

Or yeah, you can just buy guns from Snoopy. He's got a reputation for selling well tuned guns. You could almost say he tunes them as if they were his own guns. (Mainly because most of them are his own guns. He gets bored of them and sells them. Snoopy = high turnaround rate.)

You can get a lemon, normally it is the piston... If you get it from NorCal though, he knows that CA's has lemons and he will stand behind the gun if there is a problem.
