Gun From Scratch

Apr 19, 2006 3:58am
I have to do a project where I make something and we're given many months to do it so I have come down to either writing a book or building an airsoft gun from scratch. By this I mean buying all the parts i.e. moter, body...seperately in order to make my own gun. I was wondering if this is possible, as in not rediculusly pricy ($800+) or if it is just not possible due to compatability issues. If you guys think it's impossible I'll just write a book and buy a CAM15A4.

P.S. I know this is random.

Possible yes... pricey well lets just say you could probably buy 4 or 5 guns. Maybe more..

yeah, it will work, just have to know what types of stuff goes in what gun(like, a short motor wont fit in a M4, a version 3 tappet wont fit in a version 2, hop up are all different, etc.)

I need to fill up a process journal, and include tons of research. I guess it will be too pricy though. Why is that I thought it would be cheaper because you don't have to pay for service.

Yeah I would have to do ALOT of research but it would be alot of fun.

its an easy job, thats what how im building my new toys, its cheaper in the long run. If u dont know interanls all that well go to AEX and talk to Ronnie, thats how i know what to do (i still can ix a gear box if i try) but yeah he will give u a parts list. excepct 350$ on the gear box complete. then lets say, 150 for a cran stock, 180 for a RIS unit, 65 for a CA outer barrel, 55$ for an inner barrel and 180 for a hurican metal body. you will be aorund 800ish, i priced out expensive parts, you dont need to go that high. You oculd probalby keep the body down to 300$ if u need to. Like i said go to AEX and have Ronnie, Dave or Andrew hook you up.

if you need body parts I have lots of classic army parts that just sit around I have no prblem donating them to your cause so let me know
Coolwater airsoft is a bunch of queers hence they all dress pretty and match all the time, most of them are simply adults that live at home still, when they arent doing airsoft stuff they like to play D&D and have circle jerks, they all voted for Jon Kerry and are democrats

Yup, I also have some MP5 parts also... but for a price... =)

I'd want to do an M4, but I first have to get it approved...which is potentially problematic. I need to keep the price between 6 and 7 hundred.

I'm still think I'll build an M4 but I'm not going to do it for my personal project for school. Too many people have problems with guns.

Is it possible to obtain a list of all the parts necessary to build an M4?

yes like i said make a trip to aex and talk to ronnie, andrew or dave, or just pm, viper (ronnie) andrew (andrew) airsoftbum (dave) they will set u up.

I sent a PM to Viper. If anyone has ever made a gun from scratch it would be helpful if you tell me how hard and expensive it was.

I didn't realize it would cost that much. Other people'e estmates were alot lower.

The only party I want to be really nice is the gearbox. That I want to be REALLY nice. The other more cosmetic parts I'm willing to skimp on. I also want to keep it under 340 fps for AZ.

A Type R gear box could cost you 600-700 easy. It's not necessary though.
