I'm deciding between armor and a vest. Which do you guys prefer?

Dude, if you want to have torso protection get a vest that has a bunch of magazine pouches (they're more functional that way). And if you want padding on top of that, wear sweats underneath your uniform, camo, or BDU. Hope that I was helpful.

Personally I'd go vest. Armor gets too hot if you ask me, and if you get hit there while running there's no way you're going to feel that hit, but with vest you're more likely to feel it and call it therefore avoiding hard feelings and confrontations.

Use a vest to carry your mags.. i.m.o. armor is pointless unless your going for realism. Or your friends are shooting 600+.

I wear armor because I like how sexy it makes me look.

If you wear armor you must be a pussy. there plastic bb's. go vest your mags provide protection.

the reson people like armor is because it is usually molle/modular and you can change it and modify it to fit your fighting style. i use armor because i carry more mags than most vests hold, and if i need more mag pouches i just buy more pockets

I have a Crossdraw tac vest. I just bought a Molle armor carrier vest. I don't plan on putting armor in it, honestly. I just want a versatile system (with MOLLE you can put whatever pouches wherever you want...that's cool).

thanks. I thought I might want armor because yesterday I was out of ammo so my friend thought it would be funny to unload on me. That stung a little after the 20th bb...

The best defense is a good offense -- next time he pulls that stunt, unload on any part of his body that has little or no protection. He won't find it funny anymore after that...

I like armor because it looks cool. Simple as that.

I thought it did too. Alternatively you could go for a chest rig.

i recomned chest rig or molle systems, that way u can change everything out, if u wana run wiht 30 low caps u can, if u wana run with SAW pouches u can, that is assuming u have the money to blow on gear. Tac vest are nice too, cheap and they hold enough mags if u use mids to get u through most games.
Apr 26, 2006 4:47pm
well if it doesnt carry enough mags for you, just get drop leg mag poutches and belt mounted mag pouches

I use airsoft as a training/gear evaluation tool. So I allways wear real body armor with SAPI plates, 30rd mags, etc. If I was to "play" airsoft then I would probably use a SOTech HellCat or some kind of MOLLE vest. These allow for customization for your personal preferences.

eh, i think vests are better. Thats just my opinion. Unless ur playing with someone who shoots over 500 then i dont see the need for armor. It looks cool but is just as protective as a vest. Plus a vest holds amo, and possibly another gun.

My HSGI Denali can carry 25 AR mags as is.

I just got my MOLLE armor-carrier vest today. 'Tis neat. I didn't have extra cash for pouches, though, so my vest is barren at the moment.

Armor doubles up on the colder days of airsoft. Its like a giant blanket over your own internals! Don't be so quick to doubt Armor in the heat too, keeps that sweat on ya (yes it may be nasty) but its more soothing and relieving in the long end. At least to me that is.
