Lipoly batteries and auto shut off...

I hear it's really bad to run lipoly batteries to the point where they are going below it's initial voltage.. Is this true? And if so, how can I prevent this?

Yes, it is bad to run it less than 3.3v per cell. Lipos are like women. Treat them bad, they f'you up. And they can self ignite, especially if you short the wires (touch them together accidentally when soldering battery connectors on). I had one burn up when I accidentally reversed the polarity on the plugs (on a small airplane battery).

How do I make sure I don't do that? I know you can get things that connect between the dean plug on the bat and the switch on an airplane to shut it off before it does.. is there something like that for airsoft?
