it needs hicaps b/c (as I understand it) the box drains into the hicap's resevoir and is pushed up by the winder back into the mag an into the feed tube.

yes chase is right. u need hicaps. trust me. my bro has a p90 with box mag. but rally. i dont think the box mag is worth putting a hole in ur pocket.

ok, no offense guys but snoopy knows his stuff. ill not go out and spend tons of money on midcaps; ill try one out first. it makes sense that midcaps would work cuz its just puching the rounds up and into the chamber, but the hicap mag just turns the resevouir into a box mag (hence the name). what im looking for, however, is just to make the p90 compatible with AR mags, so that i dont have to sell all mine, and so that i can still swap mags with my team.

why not just sell it and get an AR?

FYI, the P90 "box mag" uses an M16's hi-cap magazine mechanism to load BB's from the reservoir....

Actually there is a piece inside the box mag that fits inside the open 'top' door of the hicap, You can not use a standard or midcap unless you break off that particular piece.

Shawn is correct, you can use Stds or Mids, in order to do so you need to modify the boxmag by simply cuting off a tab that sticks out and goes into the opening in a M4/M16 Highcap mag.

It might not help, but I use my 3 hi-caps that came with the p90 I bought and fare just fine. It works great as an assault or limited sustained suppressive fire.

lol right you are erin. Shawn is correct. you can put a std, mid cap in a FF boxmag and it will feed directly into the hop. Keep in mind you will loose about 15-25 rounds doing so because they will get stuck in the feeding tube with nothing more to push them to the hop.

lmao ok so heres another question; if i break off that tab thing that holds the hicap door open, can i just load in a hicap with the door help open via glue or something of the sort, and still have the reseviour work?

yea if you can make the door stay open on the highcap then you are fine.
