I've heard some people say putting a chopped rear sight further forward helps you aquire a clear sight picture and the target a bit faster... does this apply to aimpoints too? Logically i would think it should but i don't think i've ever seen a picture of someone who did it.
yes just like ZM Weapons uses, they place their irons a bit more forward. as for an aimpoint/eotech if you mount it up its a bit faster for target aquisition, but still fast in general, just how you practice getting your weapon out of the low ready position to the high ready and are ready to let rounds loose down range. i personally have had a eotech on a bi-level S.I.R and it was pretty quick for the aquiring part, but same as if i were to put it on where i normally would (no this isnt on an airsoft gun)

Hahaha...
my impression (tho not tested) is that you will acheive slightly faster target acquision, but you accuracy (at least with iron sights) will decrease slightly because of the shorter sight parallax. This means that there is less "play" in sights that are farer apart, thus a little more accuracy. It all depends on what you want, tho.
