Gearbox Function Question...

Jun 20, 2006 7:20am
After installing some replacement parts today I fired my Version 2 gearbox w/o the upper receiver attatched, to make sure everything was functioning correctly before attatching the upper. I noticed that when I fired in semi that the piston and spring were not ending the cycle in a fully extended position and would finish the cycle at different positions each time the trigger was pulled...My question is, is this normal? Should the piston/spring be fully extended following each cycle? If so, what can I adjust to achieve this? Thanks...

Depending how severe the spring/piston variation is, from what I know - it's pretty normal.

Thats what I thought...I have a 9.6v 3300mah battery with a 120 spring...The 120 spring is brand new though??? I thought that the spring would be quick enough in the cycling to fully extend prior to the gears coming back around...This came about cause I just installed a new piston...it got eaten up...LOL.....Yup all 3 springs are in..Selector plate, tappet plate, trigger switch return...Thanks D..

What motor are you running? Those torque ups, or even the genuine systema ones can be pretty fast when paired with 9.6v batteries
