What do you do to get/stay fit.

Jul 10, 2006 12:36am
depends on your motabolism. guys with fast motabolisms harldy have to do anything to stay thin, but its a lot harder to get large amounts of muscle growth. Guys like me with slow motabolisms have to work our asses off to get thin, but can get massive arms, chests, shoulders etc. with an hour a day in the gym and the right amount of protein. If your older than 35 or 40 try the Body for Life program; it helps all kinds of people just stay fit. Ive seen it work first hand. eating is huge too, but thats something youll have to research for your own body. hope im of help.
And shephards we will be.

Its all about eating the right foods in the right amounts. I have a friend that tried losing weight by just eating fruit. That's great and all, but he was bringing in SO much sugar.... That and he loved Jamba Juice, LOL!

Like James said, swimming is one of the very best exercises for your body, no matter who you are. I'm an American Red Cross water safety and water fitness instructor, as well as a personal trainer at a gym, and water exorcises are still the safest on the body I have seen. Extremely low impact, and both aerobic and anaerobic at the same time, so long as you maintain a high heartrate for the duration of the exercise. Nothing else can do that for your body. I use swimming and water aerobics to help those recovering from joint injuries. Stretching is key for muscle tone, strength, and joint strength and flexibility. Yoga is great if you've got the time, as is PT, boxing, kickboxing, or any other workout of that nature. Start safe and slow, with your own body weight, and see where you can go from there.

Erin its all about the diet. if you want to lose the wieght/fat youll need to start with diet first. DC (joel) did a liquid diet, i tried that for a month lost a couple LBS, but didnt keep them off. you will need to excersice as well. just remember youll need to put in as much as you want out of it set a goal best thing to do. shoot for a number that you want to reach then youll be good to go. i have a test at home that i can get im sure and make you a copy youll just need to fill it out and get it back to me ill get you a meal plan and the exercise youll have to push your own self. no worries its nothing too hard if you are just trying to shave the extra inches and dump some LBS's, you can do everything at home. read basic books about diet (food diets not like this diet will help you lose 30 LBS in a week - no) youll see what to eat to counter what food, just head over to borders and take a gander and see.

I sit on my ass in a patrol car all night, maybe walk 2 miles max from 8pm-6am. Then I come home down 40 pushups in one set, and eat jack in the box, mcdonalds, wendys, taco bell, and misc diner foods...

I have a small home gym thing and I do about 60 situps, 50 push-ups, in tens, twenty knuckle push-ups, use hand strengtheners, try to do fingertip push-ups, Then as many as your body is meant for reps and sets of leg raises for the abdomens, dumbell curls, bench presses, tricep extensions, squats, lateral raises, dumbell flyes, with the heat you drink loads of water, then run as much as you can on your street until you are practically dead and then take a col shower or if you have a pool jump in that and swim lots and lots of laps! Its a good strategy.
Im already here so somebody's gotta die....
