I've owned my m24 for over a year now and have notice what many people talk about (the screws coming loose and stripping). I'm in no way a gun tech so I was wondering if anyone replaced the screws for ones that would possible be a better fit or perhaps replaced the stock screws with new screws of the same size but are more resistent to stripping away. It seems people just let them wear down to the point it is rendered useless from when I read the various forums. Has anyone tried this before?
my problem was a the weakness in the barrel. the trigger group screws ripped the threads out of the barrel. i believe that is had to due with the installer of a 300% i used in the gun not using Loctite. the screws were reused on the replacement barrel and red loctite was used. a month after i got the new barrel the bolt handel broke(CA and their pot metal).
so you never had a problem with the screws comming undone on their own? I'm not going to lie I have opened the thing before but that was so I could tighten the screws in the internal parts (don't ask me what part cause I don't know). I'm guessing this is a ca m24 v. 1 problem. Someone told me to just spray that lock tight stuff on it but I would prefer to just replace the screws all together if possible.
