Jul 24, 2006 6:02am
whats a good brand for a metal body kit for a tm m4?
The Muslim and Jewish MREs are so much better than the "Infidel" ones.

DTP.

I'd go with either Guarder or a Hurricaine metal body. Either way they are both top quality.

i plan on grabbing a G&P. theyre only about $100 and i havent heard anything bad about them yet.

I have a G&P kit on my M16. It's just great. Fit and finish is top quality, trades are deaply stamped, but it IS mis-advertisied. All the kits that I was looking at say that they are M16A1's when in fact they are plain M16's. NOT A1's.

Having owned all of these bodies here is my 2 cents. G&P fit nice but there hop ups they come with suck A$$. Guarder(even their genII) Have a crappy fit. There is a bad space between the top and bottom reciever. Also the Hop up unit you get is a plastic P.O.S. Systema great fit great hop up unit but, tends to be expensive. Hurricane my personal favorite great fit great hop up unit and you can order a bushmaster body for www.uncompany.com for 140+shipping. Plus when you pull the charging handle the ejection port opens like it does on the real ones. :D

no- regular M16's did not have the forward assist. so, it's correct for a pre-1970 impression. after the A1 was issued, a m16 would've been thrown out with the trash.

haha, the M635 (I think that's it) custom at AEks doesnt have a FA. Maybe it's because of the stick powder in .223 round.

couldn't find that on the aex website. anyway, the 16 w/o the FA was the first isse. right after the prototype XM16 was through with testing. my g&p body satisfies my need for a realistic looking reciver that with which i can do reenacting.

The DTP doesnt have forward assist either. Plus its CNC milled out of aluminum bocks, not pot metal cast like the other metal bodies out there. Comes with systema hop too. But good luck finding one 8)

I re-evaluated my situation after my last post on this and decided to start saving for a hurricane M-16A2 metal body.

Hmm,been thinking the last few weeks, and I wonder if anyone knows if a Guarder M16A2 metal body will work with a G&P front set such as the M655 set?Just curious since I have a project in mind for it.
